Thanks. Not understanding your note on the vacuum tanks tending to leak and how typical is it?.

The tank can leak at the part where to to halves come together. Also at the connection points. It will make that noise also like a leak. Seen it happen but seems to be on higher miles/older MINIs like 2007-2008.
If you don't have the leak it should be fine for now. People just do it while they are in there.
