My 2007 S will unlock from 50-70 ft away, but will only lock within 5ft from the car and only near the doors. It does this with both remote controls. If the distance was the same between lock / unlock, I'd just think it was normal, but this is weird.

Anyone else experience this? Is there a known solution?

This is going to sound weird but it works. Try holding the key up against your jaw with your mouth slightly open then press the lock button....facing the car.

 

I know that works, I do it with another car I own. But it doesn't address why the remote works from 90ft when unlocking, but only 5ft for locking.

 

Well, that sucks. I see you are in SF. Spent a few days there on a road trip once. Maybe it's a matter of being up or down hill from the car. (sorry, couldn't resist)
