Bavsound Stage 1 Soundstage upgrade for 2013 Mini Cooper S
Hi All, just wanted to share my experience as i just installed the BavSound Stage 1 front Soundstage upgrade in my 2013 Mini Cooper S with the factory harmon kardon sound system.
A couple notes about installation.
The A-Pillar tweeters were a complete B**** to install. The original tweeter cable is super difficult to remove and once you do get it out you have to somehow fit the 2 inline filters for each tweeter back into the A-pillar interior space. I ended up having to shove the 2 filters down into the dash behind the AC vent where there is some open space. BavSound, you need to make these inline filters smaller...its borderline impossible to fit them into the a pillar.
The midrange tweeters were easy to install just keep in mind there will be less space in the speaker compartment so i found it was a little more difficult to reinstall the mirror control into the door.
Overall thoughts after installation: Sound is improved a little in the mids and highs and i would say it is worth the $250 price tag, but just barely. If I had money to burn i would probably completely re-do the whole system with a new amp, sub and back speakers as well to get a truly upgraded system.
