Quality of aftermarket Coolant expansion tank?

Are aftermarket coolant expansion tanks as good (or better) than OEM?

I have sprung a modest leak in my coolant system, with the likely culprit being the tank or the hose underneath. (I did an oil change last week, and given all the twisting around of the tank and hoses during that process, Occam's Razor suggests that is the most obvious cause of it.

Looking on-line for expansion tanks, I see quite a spread on pricing. PartsGeek has one for $45, while MiNIMania (rarely fails to be the most expensive out there) was a whopping $110. I generally stay away from the MiniMania "Value Line" brand, but I'm trying to decide why the difference in pricing and whether it matters. It's not like the hallowed OEM from BMWQ/MINI is anything exceptional, other than exceptionally cheap and expensive.

Anyone purchased one of these lesser expensive replacements and had good luck, or bought a more expensive one and appreciated a difference?

Thanks.

R53 here, but probably still applicable. I have one of the round aluminum tanks and will be going back to stock when I eventually get around to it. The stock tank may be the shape it is for good reason - and have that uneven floor with the little raised fins. In the round tank, when running warm and recirc starts, a 'whirlpool' can develop and that can suck air back into the system. I believe MINI did their due diligence to eliminate this, and even though the stock tank is plastic, it's probably the best one available.

EDIT: AND you can see the coolant level at a glance with the stock plastic ones.

I have replaced mine with one of ours and its been fine. All the ones we have the quality has been fine I have seen hairline cracks on the bottom of the genuine MINI one with time,(mine did it) Its that's connection at the bottom that tends to leak due to oil changes and twisting the hose. O-ring tends to fail.
