2008 S Turbo Oil Line Leak/Replacement
I don’t post much, but this forum is my go to resource for my wife’s ‘08 Mini S. Appears the turbo oil feed line is leaking. I can actually pull the line out of the banjo bolt fitting approx 3/16 of an inch. Talk to the local Mini dealer and they quoted me $1,073 + tax to fix it.
I’ve been researching this repair and all the videos are pretty close to the same. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, but can get frustrated easily trying to access fasteners. I don’t have access to a lift so would have to use ramps and/or jack stands to get underneath and I’m an old fat guy. Just how difficult is it to get to all the fasteners for the heat shields that need to be removed? The down pipe seems to be not so bad. What’s the best video/procedure to follow? Any help will be much appreciated.

Some of the heat shield bolts are definitely a pain. And the downpipe can be frustrating with the exhaust pipe connection.
I don't know what the miles are or what else has been done. But if you're going that far, I would go a little further and look at replacing the oil filter housing gaskets as well. That's another thing prone to leaking.
And I purchased the NM Engineering braided oil feed line. It is a nice quality and better than the OEM

Or just take the OEM MINI Part number and pop it into the search box at the top of this site. This site has way more info then even a YouTube video will have most of the time.
