R56 Faulty oil pressure sensor

Faulty oil pressure sensor
8/2010 N18 LCI engine on my Mini. Oil can icon light comes on after the car has warmed up and generally at freeway speeds. The warning stays on or intermittently goes off and on. Tested the oil pressure and it is good. The OBDII dongle and engine app give me a consistent reading of 2.7 bar. It has to be a faulty sensor. Ordered a new sensor but the access to the sensor is impossible. It would seem I have to remove the turbo recirculation valve or auxiliary water pump to get to that sensor. Or even the turbo itself. This seems crazy to change out a simple sensor. Bently is no help, the photo in the manual must be of the engine out of the car. All the videos online for this topic are for N14 or non-turbo engines. I sense a $2,000 repair at the dealership, don't make me go there! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

On the N18, its on the oil filter housing.
