Post engine bay Fire, wiring harness coming from firewall toast
Ok, my car is a full time track car. R56 Turbo S. I think this is the worst thing that can happen next to an actual crash. Long story short, oil leak led to engine bay fire. Engine wiring is toast, but real easy to replace. The fire took out ECU and Fuse block and the connectors to them. That means wiring moving to front driver side as well as down to transmission and power steering. I have located wiring for everything but the connectors back to through the firewall. I stripped everything out as well as dash and I am overwhelmed that it looks like I will have to replace ALL of the wiring in the car as it appears as it is one piece. I thought I could replace the harness from under dash to the engine but I cannot see connectors seperating the two. Anyone have ideas of whether you an purchase a complete main chassis and dash wiring harness? the car is structrurally perfect, but I need to figure out how to solve this. I am overwhelmed.

I think your best bet might be to find a salvage R56 of same vintage and swap harnesses.
Here is the main wiring harness, which retails for ~$4000:

You could probably find a salvage R56 with many more usable parts for much less than $4000. Would make for a good race parts car.

I appreciate the comment, I actually found a donor mini for $2,500 but it is overwhelming what has to be done to get the chassis and dash harness out of an old car. The engine compartment is easy. but the connectors and harness that go from the engine bay back through the firewall into the car does not disconnect from the chassis. It is one big harness. My car is a full race car. There is no interior or sound tape, nor dash. But a street mini has the whole world in it and it ALL has to come out. Crazy!

I already have the parts vehicle. However, the question is what is harder? Taking all the mechanicals out of the race car and transfer to a stock mini just because it has a good harness? I mean fire suppression, and cage alone would take a few thousand to have someone cut up and re weld it into the car. Engine, transmission, cooling, suspension, exhaust yadda yadda. Both options are insane.

Yup, that is what I found out. I could spend $4000 on a harness already out of a car, or buy a donor and do it. I chose the donor. I just did not know what I was getting into. However, it is a super clean donor. I think I can make quite a bit back on parting it out. I shall see. I think my summer will be spent removing the harness out of the donor. Getting it back into my track car will be super easy. It has no interior but the full cage and race seats. Might even be an opportunity to clean it up and repaint the interior. Have to find a bright side.

I have one that I removed from a 2013 R56S that thing was a royal pain.......Lol
after all said and done I put it in a heavy-duty black plastic bag for future use
I suggest for easier reassembly put a little tape and paper for reconnection location.
That harness is spread out in the vehicle like an octopus.
