oil...dipstick..ahhhh!!
So, I have had my mini for a couple of years and soon found out about the burning oil and rubbish dipstick issues. Through trial and error I came to a way of reading the dipstick that seemed to work for me. I would take the dipstick out and leave overnight, test in the morning and it would be very clear what the level was. This week have been using this same system but for some reason the oil is thicker on one side of the dipstick...i'm pretty sure I am parking in the same place although not overly sure how level it is so that could be the issue.....any other reason why this is suddenly happening for me?

Yes, it should be the same, if you burn a bunch of oil, the oil level can drop and not show up on the stick. Make sure you are flat (level) and the dipstick is all the way down.
More info on how to read it and how to modify the stick to read better
