All transmission gears are neutral

2012 mini r56 96k, 6-speed manual. You can put it in any gear without depressing the clutch and all act like neutral. RPM does not change indicating engaged gear. I lifted the wheels, axles in great shape, cables look good. Putting it in gears I can see the cables working on top of the gear. Clutch pedal feels normal. When putting it in reverse while off ground and giving it a hard rev the wheel moved. When putting it in 1st gear I can barely see the wheel move maybe less than half an inch at a time with hard revs. Any ideas?

@bhamdic1 ,

You didn’t mention anything about rpm when it’s in first gear, giving gas and the wheels aren’t moving.

@bhamdic1 ,

If the rpm is up and the wheels aren’t moving. You need to check the clutch disc and the pressure plate.

Your description would lead me to believe the clutch disc or pressure plate are toast. But, regardless what could be the cause, it’s time to pull the transmission and check it out.

If you're experiencing an issue with the clutch on your car, here are a few possible solutions that may help:
  1. Check the clutch cylinders for leaks and functionality.
  2. Inspect the clutch release bearing for any signs of wear or damage.
  3. Examine the clutch fork and pivot point for wear or damage.
  4. Ensure that the clutch cable is properly adjusted.
  5. Verify the clutch pressure for compliance with recommended values.
Additionally, you can turn to resources like free **** to find video tutorials or guides on resolving the issue. Try searching with a specific question about the clutch problem on your car. Good luck, and I hope your issue gets resolved!
