R56 Help with Mirror Glass Fix

Help with Mirror Glass Fix
Hello - I'm new to the forum and need some advice on how best to fix a problem. The passenger side view mirror glass on my 2013 R56 started jiggling while driving. When I got home, I went to investigate and the mirror came off in my hand. From reading other posts and threads, it appears that this mirror glass sits / seats onto a black plastic mount with some sort of adhesive or adhesive tape. The mirror glass is undamaged so there's no need to replace it. I just need to re-attach / re-adhere it.
I was thinking of cleaning both surfaces with alcohol and buying some double-stick tape of some sort to put it back on. Am I heading in the right direction? Any suggestions for the best tape to use?
Thanks!

Hello,
You could but the glass might come off again with auto heater mirrors.
I would just upgrade both the euro bling spots with anti glare. We are the only ones who have the versions with the Blue Tint Anti glare. R55-R61 version: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...mr-mir56a~hlx/
They just clip out and clip the new ones in. They have the built in heaters.

I like your suggestion and they seem reasonably priced. But since I don't think my mirrors are heated, I am going to try some adhesive or double stick tape first. If that doesn't work, I'll be checking this out. Just spent a bundle on new vinyl stripes for the the hood, new cowl cover and ceramic coating.

They work the same if not heated option, just does not get plugged in.

I purchased some clear T-Rex Super Glue Tape, 0.5 in x 7.5 yd. I wanted something super sticky, but not too thick for fear the mirror glass would not "seat" into the lipped plastic mount. Cleaned both mating surfaces with alcohol. Covered the back of the mirror with the double-sided tape. Went out to the Mini, pulled the back off the tape, and carefully pressed the mirror into place. Then applied pressure for a few minutes.
Now we'll see if it works.

Check the ECS post above
I replaced both my mirrors (2009 Base R56 heated mirrors) with these wider angle mirrors for better view.
The mirrors pop off (gently pry from behind). Pop the plastic back off your separated mirror.
