intake pipe replacement and mystery port

I recently upgraded my Turbo and the silicone or rubber grommet on the intake disintegrated. the replacement has an open bung or port. I have never had anything connected there since I owned my car on the oem pipe. I have seen a couple pics that show it connected to a pipe. I previously had a sensor plugged in but nothing on the bung

what is this? I don't want to let unmetered air in and don't want to leave something unconnected

the replacement has an open pipe next to the wires that's open. going to just find a cap and plug it. massive for euro cars that have a map sensor.

There were a few cars that did not have that vent hose connected. If yours doesn’t use it, just cap it and you’ll be fine.
