any CVT or Regular Auto for 2007?

I'm having a problem deciding just like evryone else dose, I can't drive a manual and I have a regular cvt cooper, been wanting to change it for a cooper s with auto, but as I've relized it took a while for the current cooper s to have an auto trans, and I also heard that they probably won't even have an auto trans (specifically a cvt) for the 2007 cooper s, could it be true? and also that CVTs are gone for 2007 due the cost of making them?

so I guess its better for me to get the current s with auto now rite? makes it alot easier!

Don't know about the 2007 models, but I'll say this much - the 2005 MCS auto that I have is a fantastic car. The transmission is smooth but decisive, and when I get on it the thing shifts crisply and consistently. I highly recommend the auto in the MCS - it's a blast to drive.

got an MCSca loaner today from my dealer today ... I currently drive an 03 CVT MC ... and would have liked to trade up to a MCSa ...

BUT ...

this is my first exended drive of an MCS and not sure how I feel anymore between them and the MC.

My car feels peppier for sure ... OK, both have Auto trannies which all of you dread, but the CVT is sooo far superior to the sludge that is on the MCS ... man does this tranny suck. Decisive and predictable are not words I would use.

on a positive note the interior is more solid, the steering wheel feels better and the convertible, while really clunky looking with the top down, it is certainly tons of fun. I am 6'7" an can only see half way using the rearview mirror due to the folded top, so not sure how you shorter folk fare.

can't put my finger on why, but this car feels really heavy ... could it be the wheels, the top? ... no idea ... but my MC feels downright featherweight compared to this.

Definetely waiting for the 07's now ... and not even sure I want an MCS anymore
