Top Gear Article on the 07

Top Gear Magazine (from GB) has a good article and some cool pics of the 07 in the October issue. This particular review was fairly positive. I get the impression that overall the car is getting good reviews. While there will be some features of the new model that people will either love or hate, it seems like BMW did a pretty good job with the redesign. Although I haven't driven an 07 I think both the "old" MINI and the "new" MINI will be great cars in their own ways. Of course that doesn't mean people can't have a preference for one over the other, but the important thing is that in the end R53 and prospective R56 owners just need to unite and continue in celebrating all things MINI. I am reminded of the inspired words, "heal the world, make it a better place. For you, and for me, and the entire human race..."

I'm not sure if its online. I just saw it in the print version at Barnes and Noble. They had some really nice pictures too.

And just a side note, I've noticed that I'm starting to like the British car mags (ie. Car, Top Gear, EVO, etc...) much better than the U.S. ones. Too bad they're so expensive here in the U.S. Oh well, I guess thats what my lunch break is for, head to B&N or Borders

I agree, the UK mags have a bit more bite to them. If you think the Top Gear mag is good you should check out their TV Show - the best, most irreverent motoring show ever. There was talk of a US version on the discovery channel, though, without Jeremy Clarkson I can't see how it would work. Check out You Tube for Top Gear episodes.

The Discovery Channel is the hour long version rechopped (generally so all the good parts are removed) into 40 mins. and commercials added nowhere near as good, however I have my ways of seeing the reeal versions shortly after they air.

It's funny I saw one of the 'Americanised' versions of the UK Top Gear on Discovery and all they seem to have done is insert "You Americans, of course won't see this version...etc", and muzzeling Jeremy's hatred of American cars from the show.
However, there was and still is, talk of an American version concerning the US market hosted by some 'Youth' figures and sports-meatheads.

those are my 3 favorite car magazines, with EVO and the newly redesigned CAR providing the best layouts, photography and "travel" stories... don't think anything in the USA comes close...
