R56 Will their names change?

Will their names change?
Will we still have the MINI Cooper S, or will it turn into the MINI Cooper T? Knowing BMW, I could see them trying to call it a MINI Cooper GT, to try to play off GP, and maybe confuse a person or two. So what do you guys think? Will we still have the MCS or will we get a MCT?

Still the "Cooper" and "Cooper S"
S-stands for "Sport"... NOT supercharged. So, no... no "T" for turbo.
The GP is the GP. It would sully the name of that beautiful limited production wonder to start throwing it around all willey-nilley. I believe the hopped up version will retain the name "John Cooper Works", despite the physical/independant JCW shop's closure.
If I was going to predict any long term BMW influenced moniker changes... I would guess maybe a change from the "Works" designation to a MINI "M" car. But I can't imagine the general MINI motoring public accepting that without a fight.

The rest is correct although its is not clear that S stands for "sport". This has been discussed a bunch of times ... also on motoringfile. Dwdyer is correct to. Originally may have stood for Special.

I'm aware the JCW has not gone out of business... but I was under the impression that the physical shop has closed and that much of the "John Cooper Works" product production and development will be moved "under the MINI roof" as it were... with much of the Works parts produced by MINI under the direction of Michael Cooper.
I don't forsee an "M" designation happening, either... hence the comment at the end. I should have instead maybe said: "But I can't imagine the general MINI motoring public, OR THE BMW M CROWD accepting that without a fight."
