Very similar to the seats available in the GP in all countries except USA ... same limitation may apply to '07 seats due to the USA requirement for seat/load sensing (although MF reported they might come to USA some time)
You have to question BMW using Blue w/white roof & white wheels for the debut. It's a nice colour combo, but doesn't get the attention that red, white, black or yellow would. It's also very 2002 and doesn't give the impression that the '07 is "totally redesigned". Maybe they want to play down the "newness" of the '07 so as not to alienate people who have grown to love the little guys.
I'd bet that you are right about the mellow yellow having the (now JCW) aero kit. The area surrounding the fog lights don't match the Cooper or MCS photos. The honeycomb plastic around the fogs follows the design lauguage of the current aero kit (ex: http://www.mini2.com/images/paris_th...rrentPic=103).
The JCW site has a photo of the new aerokit now. It looks like that is the aero kit on the mellow yello MCS w/ the zipper car-cover on: http://www.mini.com/com/en/john_cooper_works/
At least they didn't change one thing from R53 to R56... the rear aero bumper is still ugly as sin.
Those giant side vent pod things look crazy with the door open! And to me the whole dash area looks too busy - too many different colors/shapes/etc going on.

I think that the side vents will provide an interesting opportunity to an entrepreneurial vendor. I had some grill badges made for our local MINI club (MetroplexMINI) a while back... the old-school chrome-plated brass style with enamel finish. I'd love to see a company figure out the mounting and offer full custom sidevents for their club, events, etc.
I think that those boxes are power supplies so they can leave the accessories (ligths, radio, etc) of the car on without starting the engine. They might also be computer controllers so they can do a 'light show' with the turn-signals, headlights, etc.
I know that this is probably covered in another thread, if so my apologies, but does anyone know when MINIUSA.com will update their site allowing for configuration / pics of the 2007 R56? :impatient
And why in the world would they keep the scoop on the S if it isn't functional? I'm sorry...but that's what cheap people do with Honda's and the like. HORRIBLE. I'm not impressed with the new MINI at all....but I guess that's just my opinion...
I think it looks better in the amateur pics versus the official pics.
Funny you should mention that. I was thinking the exact same thing while browsing the three gallories of Paris pics over at MINI2. Its like some of the lines and colors jumped out more on Paul's pics than the manufacturer's press release photos.
For a lot of the "official" pics of cars they use fairly strong polarizing filters that cut reflections off of the glass. Unfortunately, it also removes the shine and 'pop' (IMHO) from the paintwork. It makes the car more isolated (no reflections of the photographer, set or lights, but it makes for a very sterile looking picture (again IMHO).
