I believe they are int he rear tail lanp assembly.
Front fogs are standard (on the S, at least). Rear fogs are just two red lights facing to the rear. Fairly high intesity, so when it's soupy, no one rushes up and tags your slow moving car from behind. Nice (I'm getting 'em) but not necessary... well, depending on your weather conditions I guess.

My understanding is that the front parking lights and the fogs are basically two lighting units located in the same place/enclosure. So if you do not get front fogs, the car looks essentially the same exteriorly...there's just not fog bulb in there with the parking light...nor is there an additional toggle on the dash. I like this setup in that the car still looks good w/ or w/o fogs, and there's not some weird functionless panel stuck in the bodywork where fogs should be.

O I see. If you dont select fog lamps there jump a whole under the parking lamps. Thanks for replies. Also I agree to above about rear fogs lamps they just look cool.

I'm getting front and rear fogs on my Cooper. In my mind it's because my commute takes me through river-bottom country and it gets foggy on occasion. Between you and me, though...it's for the toggles!!!
Also, even though the look from the front will be no different, I don't want a do-nothing plastic bit stuck in the back of my car where a red lens should be.
