R56 Living with the R56

Thanks for the reply R53MCS. So, when washing the car there is no way to get the water out of the honeycombs? No way to dry it?
I just ordered mine and was already washing it in my minds eye (yes, I know, I am nuts) and thought the honeycombs would be an issue ...any water trapped in them will drip out once you start moving. Maybe a car wash with high powered air drying is preferable to hand washing?
Concerning the chrome exhaust tips: they are standard in the US. My dealer said they were included and he deleted the $125 from my configuration price.
dean.

Cool. I don't plan on getting a R56 anytime soon, but more or less down the road. (perhaps sometime in 2008 or 2009) I'll keep my curent MINI for now and enjoy it while it lasts.

Thanks for the up date
Very interesting, as to the small changes you made at once.
I am still not sure if I care (in total) for the new dash layout. The position of the radiio/controls and the "plastic" look is what I have a problem with.
Perhaps, I will change my mind when I see it in person.

Thanks!
(Besides, this car just might get an aftermarket exhaust...)

Thanks for the update. You were very thorough. It doesn't quite seem fair, though, that you have to pay more for the car in the birthland, along with the VAT. I feel your pain.

[quote=R56MCS;1334440]Update time
Long fast (over 90mph) journeys can be a little tiring due to the combined engine / road noise but you get used to it.
Thanks for the detailed report on the car!
Here in California, long fast 90 mph + journeys would leave you not only a little tired, but with some spectacular fines and no driver's license. How do you manage that??
