It's easy to get into training for the MINI. Get a job either as motoring advisor/salesmanager/service advisor. It's worth it to finally see in person what the new car is all about. Two days in sunny Scottsdale/Phoenix Arizona, sliding MINIs and competitors cars around Firebird Raceway, and motoring around the hills nearby. Lots of intensive classroom stuff too. The great news is that we finally learn about the car firsthand. Our learning process so far is through this great forum and others where new MINI owners have shared their photos, and stories of getting their new MINIs.
It would have been nice to actually have some reading materials for the long plane ride about the new car. Brochures will arrive long after the MINI debuts in mid February. Yes training happens Feb 10-20th. Car is supposedly being launched Presidents weekend. MINIs are starting to arrive on US shores now. There is a bunch in New Jersey waiting to be released sometime in February. We are hoping to see them the week we are in training. Motor On!

Hi all
Just spoke with ask MINI and asked about the Detroit auto show - this may be common knowledge but they said the '07 will be there. The person I spoke with said he believes the cars will be at the showrooms (to view/drive) the 3rd/4th week of Feb. I don't know if that helps anyone. Sorry for my errant info earlier in this post I was mistaken (and a little over enthusiastic.)

Unveiling in Bay Area
I was told by eastbaymini in Pleasanton CA that they were going to have an unveiling of the 2007's on Martin Luther King weekend. They had mentioned that there would be approximately 7-9 2007's, none for sale, so that prospective customers (and those that have purchased) would be able to see the new car and more importantly, the new colors.
I'm ready to pull the trigger to order my first, but want to see the mellow yellow in person first.
Let's hope they are able to keep the date. They said that their cars were at the prep center in LA and they should make it by that time.

I have a feeling we will all see the MINIs at each dealership, throughout the country on the exact same date. They did that in the United Kingdom back in December the same way. I would imagine for current MINI owners, and people with deposits on the '07s they will be given a sneak peak the day before the actual launch. My guess is either February 16 or 17 for that. Cheers,
Scott

I just got a letter today from my MA informing me that the new MINI will be in their showroom in 'mid-February.' She also (it's a form letter) suggests that I might want to trade my car in for a new '07. Nice try, but I don't think so.
I will go to see them when they arrive, and may even take a test drive. But I am not trading/buying/leasing anything.
