front end protection

How many of you orderd front end protection with your MC...clear bra etc. I have a new one ordered and didnt add this. Does the dealer do this or do they contract out for it? Is it worth it? Upper and lower was 240.00 if you ordered it from the factory. What do you think?

240 is the for the material only. Installation cost a lot more than that. My dealer quoted 800 for parts and installation.

which is more than it would cost to get the front end resprayed if you had a lot of rock chips.... :P

Hey there! I had mine done in Hillsboro and had the entire front end including all lights done, door edges, back side of mirrors done and a couple other locations for $455.00. I had considered it from the dealer but decided to have it done directly with an installer and glad I did.

tdm--Very good price!
Might be the best I've heard.
Too bad I'm on the East coast.
OSU -- do a search here within NAM there has been plenty of discussion about the clear 'bar'.

I thought was excellent too! I was originally quoted about 500 from them but when I took it in it was about 50 less and they ended up doing alot of extras for me that were included in the price.

I am waiting on my 07 MCS right now. The dealer will handle the Invisishield which has been well received. It was on a Porsche I drove recently and looked great. That dealer showed me a pre-owned Porsche that had it and it didn't have a mark on the hood. Couldn't hardly tell it was there.

My MA offered it for $495 installed. He knocked it down to $395 in the purchase of the car.

Speaking of protection, anyone getting the rear bumper protection?

I'm getting the JCW Aero kit, and I thought the black on top of the bumper might look kind of nice, actually, but now that I have time to think until I get my production number, I'm having second thoughts.

Anyone get the rear bumper protection? Does it do much, is it worth it? I just look at my Honda's bumper and hope to avoid my new car having the same thing happen: dings, nicks, scratches from things as they load into the boot.

The install costs more than the actual items at my dealer. That's a bit of a sore spot with me. It's not much more than a decal!

On a similar thread here someone said it's easy to do yourself.
Someone even suggested to get the "hard part" -- hood -- done by the installer and do the other parts yourself. I'd say then you can save money and not be taking an exceptional risk.
