Mini R56 In Us, With New E85 Gas Compatibality
Hi, I guess that this has been hashed out in other forums for R53 and older Mini's, but what will happen to our new babies (R56-2007-USA) if we use it in them when it becomes available, I understand that it is available in the NE states but pretty soon will be here in the South. Will it be compatable? Will BMW people ok it? . Will it effect performance? etc. etc. will we have to retrofit the fuel system to cope with it.???

To run on E85, lots of engine components need to be made ethanol-safe.

If you live in an area is, or will begin to start mandating higher concentrations of ethanol in the fuel, be very careful what you are buying.
Cars sold in the US are supposed to tolerate 10% ethanol in the fuel, but MINI owners have reported problems:
