Nice. I have to wait until the end of March :(. I seem to be caught in the middle of the new models launching for all the cars that I am interested in. However, I actually like the new MINI . I am really leaning towards the yellow body, black roof and mirrors, with black bonnet stripes. SEXAY.

Hey man, I've driven both cars and there is NO comparison. The xB looks and feels significantly cheaper. The xA and xB are both very basic economy cars, the MINI is not. The Scion tC would be much more comparable.

The xB and MINI are complete opposites.

Having said that, I just turned 20 but I'm close enough to your age. I sound like your dad because I've had a new car every year since I turned 16. The Cooper S is my third car, and it's so much more fun than almost every other car i've driven....which include $100k+ vehicles.

Go for it.

Nice! I think that sealed the deal for me haha. Last thing I want is a cheap feelnig car. I just finished building my MINI on MINIUSA.COM and the total was $26,065 I put the sport and winter packages, navi system, and the helicopter pad roof thing.

As a fellow NY'er ... I can't recommend the MINI more ... great for zooming around all over the city. Super easy parking, fun as heck and practical too.
Plus chicks dig it ...

Man at 16 i used to have a 10 year old Buick Regal ... it must have been twice the lenght of the MINI

Haha yeah, if you drive a Scion (even the tC), you'll see how cheap they feel.

The Cooper is in a different class.

If you have any questions feel free to IM me..SwedeSpeed05

Now something for you to think about is whether to get a Cooper tricked out or to get a Cooper S with a little less jazz. I went with cooper s, after long debating on whether to got a lot in just a cooper, there is a big difference in feel, speed, engine all the good stuff. I am always gonna be adding on to my cooper s, but once you have a cooper, you cant just get your engine up to a cooper s that easily, prolly easier to sell it then get an S. so think about that.

I agree.

I would definitely recommend getting the the S instead.

I went ahead and got the S, AND all the packages....best of both worlds.

If your parents are paying for it, do the same.

If you've narrowed it down to just the two cars then the MINI is by far the best. '

I had a preveiw of the 07 on Saturday. To get it down to as few as words as possible, the current MINi is an English car made by BMW. The new MINI is a BMW not seen since the 2002. Both are going to be legendary. The 2007 has much more advanced engineering but loses a few quirks and feels. The older MINI will still be available for two more years in the convertible model, if your agenda is that broad. For pure driving, the coupe is much tighter, but for cruising, the convertible is the cats pajamas.

I don't want the convertible as a sunroof will do me good, along with A/C . I really dont care if I get the 07 model or the 04's or whatever model before the new one. I will probably get the S if my dad wants to pay the extra. If he says just get the regular and just put on all the packages I wont argue either . As long as I have a MINI I will feel like I won.

Last email I got was for "the week of Feb. 20th". I had hoped, and asked if the 19th might be possible since I have the day off for Presidents Day, but haven't heard anything back. And I haven't been in my office this week to check voice mail. Taking some time off to recharge.

Yea probably as my dad loves fast cars.

I have another problem though. I can not decide on color. Whener I think I have the right combo, I see someone else's mini and like that one more. All the mini colors and combos look good which makes it even harder :(. I hate second-guessing myself.

Scion is rice ...

sounds like you've already made the correct decision.

remember ... until the asians understand what it means to put a "soul" into a car, they will always be just a car, nothing special. Robots are perfect but lack heart .. just like their cars.

the germans, italians, french, swedes and even the americans have been building cars with "soul" for a long time.

best of luck with your new whip!

I have driven ALL kinds of cars, and I think you summed it up perfectly. I've driven two Acura NSXs, the Japanese "exotic"...even that lacked soul.

One thing about the Japanese that you can't argue, they are the most reliable cars on the road.

As a whole, yes..but thats not always true.

For example, GMs are typically more reliable than Nissans.

Your sig answers your question.. Chili Red all the way!

I think it's the perfect blend of sportiness and class.

i didn't know that was an option. I thought you had to get bonnet stripes the same color as the roof.

From the factory you can only get bonnet stripes the same color as the roof. Aftermarket anything is possible
