Dealer added stuff-- clear coat, rust protection, etc
What items do dealers try and sell you these days. Undercoating, clear paint protection, etc.
It use to be that these were pretty useless dealer profit items (all car makes.) Does MINI dealerships have a list of such items they try to sell you?
I'd rather have the lowdown before I go and pick-up my car.

I just got my forms from the dealer in the mail yesterday. They offer:
-EasyCare Mechanical Service Agreement - extends the warranty to 10yrs, 100,000 miles (but doesn't likst a price, so $$$).
-MINI Factory Full Maintenance Program - All maintenance pre-paid while under the warranty period ($599).
-Northwest Protection Plan - Additional insurance/warranty coverage for paint ($275), Interior ($275) or a combination of both ($495).
-3M Rock Chip Protection - basiclly a clear bra application ($799). I've been quoted less for a 3M clear bra AND window tint, so... no thanks.
-Lojack (with lifetime warranty) - Reciever ($899), or with early warning alarm ($1149).
-GAP Protection - In case you total the car and insurance undervalues the payout (no price listed as it's based on the loan amount).
-Credit Life Insurance on Loan - If you croak and still owe... (price varies)
-Credit Accident Insurance on Loan - If you get sick, can't work and can't pay (price also varies).
No undercoating or clearcoat for pait etc... though packages may vary from region-to-region or dealer-to-dealer. The quality of paints used now days, most of that stuff is not necessary as long as you use a good wax product a couple times a year and hit a car wash once in a while that has a good undercarrige wash feature. If you go with leather, get a good cleaner/conditioner and do that once or twice a year as well. IMO, of course.

It all depends upon how much you drive.
