Mine is on the boat also. As I understand it, it leaves 2/19 Monday (they don't observe president's day ). It will be a long wait until 3/12 (3/13 is when it departs LA).
Mine is listed as "in waitlist status". Anyone know what that means? I noticed there were several others in that mode also. Could it be that they are going to have it wait for the next boat? Mine is a convert. Could they just be allowing the new R56's on this boat?
Is that the picture of the Elektra in the web cam? It is a bit far away.
Waiting is killing me.....:impatient

The last few WW ships that have come in have "staged" off to the left of the screen as they came into port. Somtime during the night they have moved them to the area on the right, closer into view to dock and load. There are 3 or 4 other ares in port where those ships can load, but this cam shows the most active, for sure. The ship aso indicates it's still en-route from Belgium... so it may be coming into port later tonight (Hopefully they're saving that spot right up front!).

OK, this is going to kind'a **** me off...
I was hoping to be able to track the ELEKTRA as is crossed the Atlantic and made it's way to Port Hueneme. It appears, though that the ELEKTRA is less than dilligent about providing weather updates to SailWX. So daily updates that way just aren't going to happen.
I've managed to get all the Inmarsat numbets to the ELEKTRA... basically all the numbers that handle ship to shore phones, fax lines, and data transmissions.
I've contemplated giving them a call posing as Sven from the home office... or shoot 'em an e-mail asking them to start providing daily updates...

Well, I sent a request to Walleneous Wilhelmson and an e-mail (a text message) to the ship.
Basically asking if they could begin providing the voluntary weather updates (how sailwx.info tracks ship positions), or provide information on any other ways to track the progress of the ELEKTRA.
Might work. Might not. At least I gave it a shot.

Yeah. Go to www.sailwx.info . Under the pull down tab "Ship Tracker" click on "Find Specific Ship By Name Or Callsign". At the bottom, center of the page type in "Elektra" and hit enter. You should be given a list of possibilities. Click on the only one for Elektra (with the most recent date & time). You'll then be shown the most recently reported position.

Well, the Elektra is making good progress:
A few more days to Halifax, NS (02/26/07). As it gets close, you can start checking http://www.aislive.com/ and sign up for a free trial. You can the get live port radar info:
There's even a webcam overlooking the port if you want to try and get a glimpse of the ELEKTRA coming into port: www.halifaxwebcam.ca/live/index.php?CURRENT_CAM=cam1
Pier 23 (the Autoport) is around the bend off to the left, just out of sight... but you might be able to catch her coming and/or going.

Checking the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site it appears that there have been some adjustments to the "Voyage Details" page. As of today (02/26 16:30 hrs PST) is says:
Halifax, NS - 02/27
Manzanillo, Panama - 03/05
Port Huneme - 03/12
So it sounds like they got bumped back a day for the first two stops... but up a day on the final delivery? I would assume that'll probably change depending on what kind of time the ship makes to the canal.
Keep an eye out tomorrow.

ELEKTRA sank???
last reported position was about a day from Halifax on Feb 26 - did our babies go down with her???
Just kidding, I am sure they are all happy in Halifax in glorious sunshine today and balmy 32F weather (http://www.halifaxwebcam.ca/live/ind...RRENT_CAM=cam1) - my little MCS (Black/Redwood Red/Oak/SS/LSD/Hifi) will be happily playing with yours and waiting to hit the dirt in California in two (endless) weeks

Nope. Probably stalled 'em until the Sevedore's Union could fanagle an OT shift out of the docking, or somthing.
The Elektra came into Halifax last at about 7:00 PM (PST). Was there a whopping 30 minutes and headed back out. I caught it on the AIS Live site... but it was dark on the webcam and couldn't see a thing:
Last seen leaving Halifax at 19.5 knots with a heading of 210-degrees. It's headed down the coast! I have an alert set up through AIS Live's Subscriber site when it hits the Atlantic Approach area.
Current "Voyage Details" suggest it should be there on the 4th, and clear the 5th. Still suggesting into Port Hueneme on the 12th.

Sorry about the delay. Switching shifts is taking it's toll right now...
Heres the Atlantic approach to the Gantun Locks:
...and then the exit through the MiraFlores Locks to the Pacific:
Not even one more day and it should be in to Port Hueneme!!! Looks like she's passing the Baja Coast right now at 18.8 knots. Expected arrival in Port Hueneme 1:00 AM tonight (3/12/07):

Definately post pics!
Mine's supposed to be here sometime this week, but the dealer needs a few days to get some of the accessory stuff done. I'm getting ralley lights, mudflaps, tint and the clearbra.
I'm scheduled to pick it up on the 31st @ 9:00 AM.
The lowering springs go on the next day.
