Dear Promking:

Thank you for you thoughtful opinion.

I, however, take exception to the following statement from your post:

"I am however a fan of the collective effect my '06's characterisics (sp) have on my daily driving experience, and upon returning to my car I drove away with a great sense of peace."

This appears to be a sly insinuated criticism that you like your 06 more than the R56........this is an R56 Forum, buddy, go start a thread in the R53 forum and post your "revelation" there.

Ken Cooper:

- Post Promking's diatribe under "Criticisms".

- Post my thoughtful reply under "Positive".

Thanks in advance,

Skip

Skiploader and C4, I'm going to quietly leave this string of postings. It's a shame how a couple of jerks can totally destroy a good thing. Bye.

Promking was joking.

In all seriousness, don't leave. I have gotten a load of hatemail over the last few days and have taken a beating on this thread. C4 is not a jerk and the aim of the posts isn't to get anyone to leave but to poke a bit a fun at everyone who takes this stuff to seriously.

Hey if Dstock and I can learn to love each other, you and I have hope.

But I just had a thought for those that refuse to move forward ...

You do know that b&w movies DO still look good on b&w TVs?

But unfortunately, those with b&w TVs will never see in color.

Ken, can you add this one to the Negative tally, too?

I believe he's trying to insinuate that the R56 is a richer, fuller-spectrum experience. I didn't realize interior lighting counted for so much.

Ken, is there a category for 'obstinate'?

Chows, what does television have to do with this discussion then?

You dont know.

Dude ... its one of those things. If you don't get it, its impossible to explain. Its like trying to explain a sunset to a blind man ... or maybe a Tidal Wave to someone whose never seen an ocean. Ya either get it or dont.

No, no - I understood what you were trying to say. I just wanted to see if you actually had the guts to cop to it. Guess not.

Just pointing out that after making such a big production about your belief in the imminent fracture of MINIdom - you go and add your own wedge to the split.

It's never a simple Old versus New when you're dealing with products. These days New is also generally cheaper and more shoddily put together than Old.

Chris:

As I stated in my original post I own an Evo 9 MR. The car looks like an aborted hippo - period. People tell me all the time it's ugly.

Does it matter?

Of course not. I love the car. I love driving it at the track, I love driving it in the hills - it makes me happy every time I fire it up - regardless of what anybody else thinks.

I have taken alot of ribbing here on NAM about owning the Evo and not once have I bitched that I was being made to feel unwelcome or asked the moderators to lock a thread where someone dissed my Pwecious.

So thank you for speaking your mind. Hopefully anyone who reads your comments won't get their panties all wadded up and scold you or cry about how NAM is becoming a segragated society - it is your opinion, you are entitled to it and you are entitled to post it wherever the hell you please.

Being Old himself, Chows may very well surprise you and agree with your assertion.

Yes and no. Yes more modern stuff is usually more shoddenly or poorly put together. On the other hand, from the R53, then cant go much lower so I figure it got to get better. I mean RUST in the door sills? What is this 1955?
