Toughest choice...

When you ordered your first MINI, whether it was an R50, 53 or 56, what choice did you struggle with most? Color combination? Transmission type? Wheels? Interior?

The number of choices and the ability to personalize the car is one of the coolest things about MINI ...yet at the same time it can be incredibly frustrating. I found it downright agonizing at times.

I had the most trouble with the sunroof and am still not sure I made the right choice.

So, what was the toughest part of the decision making process for you? Or, was it really easy and you knew right off the bat exactly what you wanted?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Interior color.

Redwood Red Lounge Leather... SIGHT UNSEEN (other than some limited pics where the color was grossly misrepresented-see below).

Took a huge pair to opt for that one if I do say so myself.

It's funny, but the choices that were the most difficult to make were what some might consider to be the most superficial. I had the hardest time choosing the paint color and whether to get silver or white wheels.

Color and the seat material were my toughest choices. CR, DS, then finally PW With the R56, it's color, headliner and if I should get the nav or not.

Me too. I hated those choices, and I also struggled with interior surface silver or brushed alloy. LSD was tough too, but for less "superficial" reasons.

Def. color. I still second thought it. I got DS but I LOVE AB too. I think these second thoughs will be depressed when my mini comes next week, but untill then, everyonce in a while, I still wish I had gotten AB

The seats, really wanted the black lounge they sold in europe and didn't like any other leather options. I went with cloth sight unseen, very glad I liked them when I saw them on monday.

Easiest choice: LSD, suspension and 17" wheels. Those are listed as "necessities". Comfort access is something I really want, but it requires the sunroof, etc. here.

Hardest choice for me will be the exterior color. Don't care what it looks like inside.

No way!

Exterior color & bling is for other people to enjoy.

Interior colors & accessories are all about you, the driver. I like to be pampered. Toasty buns in leather... MmmmmmMmmmm (heated lounge leather seats, that is).

Ahah, I'm only concerned about staying my seat around corners. Otherwise I'm too busy anticipating the next bend in the road. (or checking for cops)

My two toughest choices were model and color, but color was definitely tougher.

The exterior color was tough not having seen it in person.
The photos I was seeing were all over the board. In the end I took a leap of faith and now that I've seen it I know I absolutely made the right choice (for me.)
The second hardest decision was whether to get a sunroof.

Oooo. For me it was color choice vs HID lamps, and I took the lamps.

I also sweated over MFSW vs 17" wheels, and well, and I went for the wheel, but I don't seem to have either now.!

The two things that were the hardest for me was the interior color (brushed alloy vs all the others) and MFSW. Im still kicking myself over not getting it but I am glad that I got the brushed alloy. With my DS/B and the dark interior it sets it off perfectly.

Color for sure. I still haven't decide among Laser Blue, Chili Red, Pepper White, and Mellow Yellow. Fortunately I still have a year to decide.

So, it seems color was a tough choice for most folks. I thought it was going to be difficult ...but it ended up being really easy.

I was completely torn between LB and CR and when I went for a test drive the demo car was CR. That sealed it ...or so I thought.

The very next day as I was driving to work I pulled up next to a DS MCS with a black roof, black bonnet stripes and chrome mirrors. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I pulled behind to check out the rear and then I got in front of it to look at the nose. I am pretty sure the driver knew I was checking out his car as he was smiling from ear-to-ear ...or maybe MINI drivers just smile all the time.

Anyhow, DS was a done deal !

Nothing hard about it. Was driving down the street and this little Astro Black MCSC sitting on the lot started yelling "me, me, pick me". That's all it took.

Exterior color and then roof color
Held off my order for a couple weeks due to indecisiveness.

Ended up with Laser Blue/white

I've always bought cars off the lot - never had a choice of color. Red? Ok, we'll take it. Having to choose a color was making my head spin. I liked SS, DS, I liked BRG, I liked PW, CR, and the Yellow (my fiat X19 was a similar yellow with a black roof of course...) The only way I could get out of it was deciding I was not going to spend for metallic paint. Down to three colors the choice was much easier - I picked the same color as my outgoing Integra (which was what they had on the lot!) Whew. Weaseled out of that tough choice...
