My MC went into production today...

according to the tracking my chili red MC has moved into production today, the dealer told me on saturday that it is usually about 3-5 weeks for production and shipping to the east coast, so i could expect it first week in april. For people who have already recieved or are farther ahead in the process would you say this is accurate? If it matters i have almost no options except auto headlights, spoiler, DSC, rooster red colorline on the interior and chrome line interior.

How did you do the tracking? Through the Owner's Lounge or through 1-866-ASK-MINI? The former is usually wildly out of date, so you might be further along than you think. As for timing, mine was ordered December 13, was completed on 1/16, and I received it on 2/21. There were 2 delays in that--the factory wasn't building U.S. cars until the first week of January, and no cars were released before 2/27. Still, it gives you a reasonable idea. I think April is a little long...

Ah, firsts! This is my first MINI, but I'm an old lady, so I've been through the others...Best advice I can give you is to try to learn shifting on another car--maybe your ex-girlfriend's?

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

1-866-ASK-MINI is usually a little more accurate than the web site...but not always. When in doubt....call 1-866-ASK-MINI at least 30 times per day until delivery!

Yeah, it got so they knew my name before I said it! I wonder how many calls they get every day.

Tha's how I do it. The owner's lounge is usually at least two days slower displaying info.

My MCS auto just went into production today as well... ASK MINI had a VIN for me, but they said the OL gets batch uploads every few days, and so i shouldn't expect to see it on here until maybe Thursday.

Both people I spoke with (I called twice) said it should be shipped out by the end of next week... during Week 10, just as promised by my MA.

My MA said it's generally 3 weeks from ship date to the dealership, but I'm counting on a combination of typhoons and the Kraken to push to closer to 6. Time will tell...

Calling Ask-MINI informed me that Buddy began production this past Saturday and is scheduled to finish on 3/4. That's a lot sooner than I thought!

The trend here seems to be that most cars are ahead of schedule...

First week of April may be accurate. The last one I tracked (MFSW problem) was an 18 day cruise with a stop in NY and two days in Baltimore before unloading the mini in Charleston. My order should finish building by 3/1, but don't expect it until first week in April. Depending upon ship availablity (they can sit in Southhampton a while) and ship itinerary will determine arrival time.

I haven't done the math, but based on the interest on NAM I'd say if they just hooked all their bumpers together and pulled real hard they could pull all the anticipated new Mini's across the Atlantic in no time and save the cost of shipping. Where's Paul Bunyan when ya need him?
