Weird things about my R56

OK, here is one to start.

Beneath my toggle switches in the open area there are 2 little rubber nubs on both sides facing toward each other. What the heck are those for?

Just noticed that today myself. I have no idea.

I have them as well. Noticed them in the showroom. You would think they would be there to hold some accessory in place? Some tray that would fit into the cubby?

I think there's a small rubber accesory tray that fits in here, might have misunderstood the location though

The tray - that must be it.

Ok - here is one for you. My car forgot its custom settings for directionals and auto-locking overnight. Deb said this happened to her, and same thing happened to me. Anybody else?

The Sport button. I might as well call it the Spaz button, because when I forget to press it I'm stalling on the clutch and driving like a baffoon. My brain is simply not nimble enough to have two different settings for my right foot...

The Sport button is going to take some getting used to. With the R53, you only had to click the ASC/DSC toggle as part of your pre-flight checklist, now you have to add the Sport button to that routine.

You switched keys! If only they could sync one key to the other!

Ok - I thought the settings were in the car - you are telling me the keys can have different settings? It was the second key. Or fob. Or remote. Thingy. whatever.

From page 18 of the USA 2007 MINI manual:
"If more than one remote control is used, the settings called up and implemented depend on which remote control is recognized when the car is unlocked."

And, "The functions of your MINI can be set individually. By means of Personal Profiles, most of these settings are stored for the remote control currently in use. When you unlock the car, the remote control is recognized and the settings stored for it are called up and implemented. This means that your settings will be activated for you, even if in the meantime your car was used by someone else with another remote control and the corresponding settings. At most three remote controls can be set for three different people. A prerequisite is that each person uses a separate remote control."

Balact Man: Could it be that you used the second fob? The settings are stored in the individual fobs, so if you used the second fob it would seem as though everything reset itself.

MINI does have a tray that goes in that space, so it would seem to me like the nubs hold it in place.
