dwf137: I like the wheel color choice. Its a jdm look but i think it works on the mini as well. I'm not sure what im going to do with mine yet. But the black wheel look is used so much with these cars. I may just go with gold as well. Thanks for the pic dude :D

^^^ wow thats awesome

So the only real PS is taking out the rig? What settings do you put a camera on to get that kind of natural blur?

You just made my day. Do you think it would be possible to set up a rig just attached to the sunroof? I'm wrapping my car in vinyl, which voids any chance of me placing the suction cups on anything but the sunroof. I still think it will work with the right setup and a long enough pole

Slow shutter, midrange f-stop (probably F10 or something along those lines). Let the car roll downhill at like 1-2mph. Remove clone from pic via photoshop. The slower the shutter speed, the more motion blur you get. The ND filter I mentioned earlier is used to combat overexposure due to the long shutter.

Thanks, glad you like it.

that's pretty much the reason I went gold. Black is so over done right now. It looks good, but I want to remain a little more unique.

I don't think the gold wheel look is only a jdm look though. lots of vw's rock gold wheels. there's a few older porsches that rock gold wheels stock, etc. The look is very subaru though, since they're the most popular.

Thank you. I spend a lot of time taking care of the paint. My neighbor said that they are going take my car off the road because it is so shiny. I don't even let the dealer wash my car.

To answer your question. Yes they are lots of MINI's in Canada. Especially in the cities, where they are sold and serviced. As soon as you go into rural areas, they are none. We have two dealerships in Vancouver. I see at least 10 a day driving around. My dealer sells one everyday, so they are very popular.

Yep, removing the rig is the only major PS work. I do basic image enhancements like contrast and color as well. This shot was taken at 1 sec @ F16 and ISO 100. I used a Cir. Polarizer which cuts the light about 2 stops. I try not to use an ND filter unless I have to.

You can attach to just the sunroof. The real issue there is there is a lot more flex in the sunroof then on a body panel.

Yeah, but it's my only option. At least we have 2 sunroofs to distribute the weight better. I didn't realize that a circular polarizer alone could handle a full daylight shot like that, very nice!

Try and use your rear sunroof, the front one flexes a lot more. That shot was taken at 5:27pm in the shade of the canyon, so not quite full daylight. To give you an idea, a static shot I took at the same time was 1/4 @ F16 ISO 400.

Oh it looks a lot brighter than that. I can't wait to start building a rig, but it'll have to wait till my car is finished before I do it. Thanks for the help!

Nice photos guys. Now I wanna spend $215 shipped to get some black & blue cocomats! They look beautiful.

I'm a lazy and horrible photographer but these are my latest after a little Zaino, driving through Branch Brook park- second largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the U.S.

Washington D.C. has 3700 and locally we have about 2500, but of course are planting 1500 more in a taxpayer funded act of oneupmanship.
