Here's Jethro as of yesterday. Just turned 1k miles, and took his first nasty rock to the windshield on the freeway (a chronic problem here in AZ. At least it's not busted, just chipped). Now wheeled & tired, tinted & clear bra'd, and yesterday received a nice coat of Mother's California Gold carnauba paste wax. Suspension help (in the form of an H&R Touring Cup Kit) arrived yesterday. I'm probably going to hold off on installing until I source a pair of adjustable rear lower control arms, so that rear camber can be brought into spec after lowering. At that point - he's DONE. Really. Too much money into this sled already, and he'll be perfect (for me) at that point.

Yes I know the mock up is on an R53 Tach but lots of options are available as Steve at Custom Mini Shop has been working with Craven Speed to get the lack of gauges taken care of in the R56.

I was thinking about an IV bag holder for a mainline caffeine drip

Do you have to push your MINI onto your driveway or can you drive it on without scrapping due to the extra weight of the driver?

I'm not fat if that's what you are trying to say lol but no the h&r rss coils actually do a pretty damn good job. Even with me , my wife and my daughter WITH groceries in the trunk the car won't scrape. So I think the suspension itself is proving to be worth the good 950 that I paid for

...and I wasn't insinuating about your girth. It looked from those pics that you have negligible clearance and even if a butterfly landed on your roof, you would hit bottom...

Isn't that going to mess up the AC vents?

It is early, but so far I like 'em. I'll have a better idea when the suspension is on and I head back into the hills. I plan on doing a full writeup of my driving impressions and impressions of the car in general once that's done in the next week or so.

Driving the car is SUCH a different experience from my M Coupe, that it's strange going back and forth between the two. One thing that's really annoying me about the Mini is the overboosted, electric steering. The M's steering is hydraulic (unlike the non-M Z4's) and is just about perfect. You know what Mini ought to offer? MANUAL steering! Why not? The car is so tiny it's not like we'd have to wrestle it through turns.

The right side vent is barely covered by about 1/2 inch. I plan on doing the stack as two pods as shown on the left side of the demo.

Master Chief,

Are you going to put the mock up one on your wall in your office and the real one in the car?

If you look in my gallery you can see some of the gauges I have installed thus far just water temp and boost/vac. I will be adding oil pressure and volts in the next month. What I like about the gauges is that the face color, font and lighting all match the Mini; not to forget the price is extremely resonable. Most of the gauges are available in standard motor or stepper motor configurations. Custom Mini Shop (vendor on NAM) has them along with mouning opions in stock in most cases. As for the mock up we have talked about making it like Johnny 5 for AMVIV in March.

That's military housing? Wow, things sure have changed in 40yrs, LoL! Where'd all the SEA-Huts and Splinter Villages go? Up in smoke I hope.

E-4?!?! I was a grunt O3 and only O6 and up got quarters like yours back then (40yrs)! Nice to know the real troops are finally being taken care of. Pile on gobs of Merry MINI Miles on that great looking MINI in 2010. That's an Order, LOL.

CURRAHEE!!
