I just masked them like the JCW skirts. Sand the area that you want to paint with 220 until texture is smooth. Then spray with adhesion promoter. Once dry, hit them with a high build filler primer. Sand between coats until smooth with 400, then 600 grit until no shiny areas remain. Then hit with your color match paint. Several light coats until uniform coverage is achieved. Once your satisfied with that hit them with several coats of clear, wetsanding with 1000 grit between coats. Then wetsand with 2000 grit until you have a completely dull finish. Then buff out with a good compound and then polish them babies up! Takes about 4-5 hrs over 2 days. They'll look great and save you about $1300 in the end!

Looks great! Indeed saving $1300 would be nice, that is close to the price I was quoted for painting/installing some JCW side aero skirts. I may do the project myself, did you use an airbrush, I don't expect to find these colors in aerosal cans? Also, how far up did you take the blue paint on the door sill?

Nope, used aerosol. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/cho...del=Cooper%20S
I only went up to the first bend of the rocker panel just inside the door.

Good luck! It's not for the faint at heart, but it is do-able. Just take your time. I have a good bit of painting experience, and it was time consuming for me. You'll get out what you put in. Keep us posted and feel free to ask any questions.
