It's really a lot more blue than it looks in the photos. It looks almost navy or even a bit purple in the sun, but nearly black in the shade. It's hard to get a good photo that shows off the true color.

As far as ive seen i am the first and only MINI owner to attempt this mod... im lookin for some feedback!
Attachment 61032
i installed 4 blue LED's inside each scuttle... they are spliced into my headlights.. which resulted in a headlight out warning bc of the extra current draw... i am looking to wire them as part of the turn signal that are NC (normally closed) and flash open (off) as opposed to NO (Normally open) and flash closed (on)...
also thinkin about droppin the Volts down a bit with a resistor... a few of my buddies say they are pretty bright from next to or behind the car...

My new mini
Hi Folks,
Took me a long time to finally buy a mini, I first drove one back in 2005 but decided to hold off (can't remember why, I think it was cost).
Well I finally purchased, I had an 1988 911 Carrera 3.2 as my weekend car, and an old 300D Benz diesel as my daily driver. I didn't use the porsche much so decided to sell both and buy a mini cooper S.
Here is my new mini, 2009 MCS, stick shift, 12.6k miles on the clock bought from mini of san francisco on memorial day, has 2 years of warrantee left too!

The LED's in the scuttles are creative though...I wouldn't knock them for just that. I have LED DRL halos where my fogs are and that's not much different. IMO it's way better than some of the fart cannons I see people putting on MINIs....and NOTHING is more rice than the decked out Civic that revved his engine next to me on my run today to try to impress me as he drove by.
Those are the times I wish I had my MINI on the spot. Even still, I almost kept up at a running pace

Thank you,
It is plasti-dip. I figured I would give it a go considering I could just peal it off if I didnt like it. Even before I bought it I wasn't into the idea of that much chrome, but the black painted trim looked a bit strange in pictures. Looks SOOOOO much better in person. The color and texture of the plasti-dip match really well with the plastic trim.
It was at the bottom of my list till I saw it in the showroom. I never, ever would have thought I would own an orange car. Certainly not custom ordered one.

Dude this is going to sound super crazy. I own your car now. End of September will be two years. Bought it at a Mazda dealership in San Jose California. Now he is located in IL. No chrome anymore. I'll have to post pics up.

very clean, what suspension do you have?

Would be nice to hear a selection in person. Definitely looking at the Q. Wife is fairly forgiving with my mod obsession and I don't want to over do it with something real loud.
Thanks bro........I know it has OE struts/shocks. The springs are red, I'm not sure who makes them yet. I don't mind how it sits which will save me some $ for awhile

Yeah, the Invidia really needs to be heard in person, video's don't cut it. It's a very mild exhaust until you're all the way on the throttle. Around town it's very mild, won't attract too much attention, but has a deep, clean sound. There's practically no drone at freeway speeds.
Here's an old video of mine with the q300. If you have a sound system with a subwoofer it's better to listen to it on that to get an idea of the depth of the exhaust.

Hey thanks Adam! I love the PW/PW combo as well. I never would have bought a PW MINI before and even when purchasing this one I wasn't quite sure about the color but the options were exactly what I was looking for. Now, a few months later, I'm totally in love with the color and car. Not having a black roof really helps me stand out at least a little in a MINI-filled Los Angeles.
If the color doesn't catch attention, the beautiful noise it makes certainly does
By the way, does anyone know how to clean the NM filter to bring back its blue color?
