I'm thinking about removing the black pin's... and dipping all the chrome Matte black as well as the wheels and possible the roof and spoiler.... not 100% about the roof and spoiler yet though...

In my honest opinion, Ryan:
-Unless doing gloss black, leave the wheels alone.
-If doing the roof and mirrors, have a body shop do it the right way and PAINT them(and I am 100% all for black instead of white!)
-Flat black dip all the chrome trim. I hate chrome, that was one of the first "mods" I did after getting my 07. hate hate hate crome!

When I have the spray gun and dip to do it myself... no way am i paying a body shop to paint it black.. that would cost about 10X more than me dipping it matte or even doing a dual coat with glossifier in dip. I get that everyone thinks dip is this terrible cheap *** thing.... but as long as you put it on correctly.. which i do and will... and enough coats 5-7... it is just as good as paint if not better... cause if i get tired of it, I can peel it off and go back to white. I guess it's just my personal pref. but I don't like the look of gloss black at all.... Pearl Black is nice...Matte black is even better haha I am with you on this though.. I cannot STAND chrome.. on a car....at all... it is so dang annoying and ugly!

I wasn't implying you couldnt spray the plasti-dip yourself. I was simply giving my opinion that a flat black roof wouldn't look as good or factory as gloss black. Bottom line: white roof is ugly, chrome is uglier. Get rid of them both lol.

No I know.... I'm just not into having to pay for paint... idk.. just seems silly to me...i do indeed dislike the white roof though.. lol I'm not worried about Factory look at the moment heck.... I thought about dipping the rims, roof, and mirrors in a hyper-gray color.... lol Detroit Lions colors... Silver and Blue!

I saw yours in the waiting for a 2013 thread and was jealous. The JCW styling is very nice. I don't regret getting the S vs. the JCW, but the JCW front and rear have a slightly better style. That plus the slightly more subtle red on white vs. white on red is a good combo. I like the roof/body contrast on these cars. The Mini has a distinctive style that is rare in smaller cars these days.

I didn't realize it when I ordered mine, but they make toy versions of my toy (minus my more bitchin' wheels and the miniature minis have sunroof indents). So I've got that going for me over your fancy JCW! (Sniff!)

Like any generational fad, car styling changes over the years. In my day, chrome styling was as popular as the blackout look today. I'll keep my chrome, thank you, and I'm glad today's generation found their own style to appreciate.

Pics of my JCW from this last Monday. Was up at the Assen TT Curcuit with the Renault Sport Group racing around the track. I still have that one chrome headlight washer cover on while waiting for the new one from Vinyl Styles to come in the mail.
