So as an MA I got a bulletin from MINIUSA that says the Sport Wood Wheel did not pass US crash tests and that no wood wheels will be allowed to reach US customers. The port will switch those in transit to leather and the factory will change the remainder. Any that get through to dealers must be delayed delivery to customers until they can be changed at the dealership.

I've already had customer complaints about this so I thought I would open this communication channel.

There is another rather long string on the subject but it takes quite a lot of work to separate the wheat from the chaff. Yours is direct and to the point. Being one of those affected I appreciate your post. Thanks!

 

I don't hang around on here like I used to so I missed the thread, sorry. Anyway, we're faced with this problem and my folks who ordered wanted it to match the English Oak dash.

 

I dont get how hard it is to make it work! My friend's dad has a porsche carrera covered in wood, including the wheel.....so if they can, why cant we!
