Sparkling or Dark Silver?

Hey All,

I'm in the market for a new R56 and I'm trying to narrow down my color choice between sparkling silver and dark silver. Going by the pic of sparkling on the MiniUSA configurator, I'm not too thrilled with it, but some other shots I've seen have looked really nice. Does anyone have some nice pictures of both in similar lighting so I can get an idea? I'm going to the dealer this weekend but I don't think they have any sparkling silvers on hand to see in person. Any input is much appreciated!

don't have pixs though I could probably take some in a while as I am going to the dealer this afternoon, camera in hand!

I saw one and its a champagne color... somewhere in between golden and silver. it's a pretty color though I prefer the dark silver, particularly with white

Thats a tough one for me to answer since I am clearly biased towards Dark Silver. But, Ive seen Sparkling Silver in person several times and it looks very nice. Like minimagyar said, its a cross between silver and golden. For me, SS was too light but I saw a SS with black bonnet stripes that brought down the brightness some. I liked it

Personally, I would go with Sparkling Silver, Black top, black stripes and Red lounge leather seats. The car looks fantastic. I have also seen Sparkling silver MINIs painted the same body and roof... Looks really good too.

Here are some photos of the sparkling silver tester I had a few weeks ago:

I am very biased towards dark silver. Here are some of my favorite pictures of it. Unfortunately, none of them on an R56 ...

Thanks for the replies. The dark silver does look very nice. I'm not too into the golden color for the sparkling silver (as that's the one they show in the config), but I do like it in lighting conditions where it comes off more subtly. I'll check them out in person tomorrow.

I just think the dark Silver thing was beat to death in the previous gen car. I am sure the sparkling silver thing will be too in the new car, but to me SS is a refreshing change from DS. Not saying here DS is a nice color that everyone can agree on (But not as fast as CR).

After seeing the Sparkling Silver, I have to wonder why Mini did not call it "Sparkling Champagne". Would seem more appropriate as the color is not really silver at all.

I don't know, but Dan said that bigger wheels would be added shortly and he was going to lower the car too, among other things.

They're 15"'s as much as the Prince engine is French.

That protruding piece of plastic (air dam) underneath the front bumper looks aweful. I would cut it/remove it. Scrape-o-rama big time.

Last I heard Peugeot is Japanese and the R56 rides lower than the previous car.

You'll get to do that when you take delivery of your Clubman.

I vote for the Sparkling Silver with black roof/stripes and lounge leather redwood.

Like others I'm biased as that is the combo I got and waiting for :-)

I am picking up my DS R56 tomrrow at 9am! I was actually inbetween AstroBlack and DS because I liked the blueish tint to the Astro Black. To tell you the truth, I have never seen a DS mini on the road, only purples, yellows, reds, blues.

Same here. In CT DS are rare, I've seen three or four since 2002. But white, blue and red are everywhere ...and they all look great!
