Is that just the protectant (cosmolene) that they put on the cars during transit? I have frequently heard of such leaking if the car was not thoroughly washed upon arrival at the dealer's.

I'll ask about that when I bring mine in. Thanks!

I like to think of it less as crying, and more like I didn't potty train her very well.

There is an NFR/Silver Clubbie in our neighborhood and is it gorgeous.
For a Clubbie, it would be a hard choice between an S and non-S. I would lean towards the S due to the extra 190 pounds the Clubbie has added to it.
Shame Mini did not come out with a 1.8L engine for the Clubbie. I was hoping.

I would really recommend test driving both and deciding after that. It really changed my mind.

It is always best to drive them both. If I was going gor an automatic, it would be a no-brainer and would be an 'S'.
A friend of mine has a Clubbie and when he loads it up, he is glad he got the 'S'.
Tough decision, for sure.
Coopdy, I like all that is Mini. There is no such thing as a bad choice. Everyone just has to figure out what is best for them.

I had the same S versus non-S debate going and test drove them both. For the way I drive (no grandma, but not a Racer Boi either) I honestly didn't feel like I needed the extra HP. The justacooper had plenty of zip and pep (and I am coming from a big honkin' V8 engine)....so I felt like I could put the extra money the S would have cost into other options (upgraded interior and wheels) and get the Nightfire Red color loved....it was all good. Like Skuzzy said, there are no bad choices when it comes to the MINI, just what works for you!

Thanks Jumboshrimp. Though you might not want me getting a NFR Clubman, because it would look just like yours! Love yours and I have the exterior configured completely the same, some differences inside though (they have to be slightly different anyways, right?)
I'm going to post to the general group comparing a 1995 Honda Civic LX (my current car) and the base Clubman powerwise. I get by just fine with the Civic's get up and go (though just a tad slower on passing on the freeway than I'd like, but I'm rarely on freeways).
Thank you NFRers! I saw a week old NFR Cooper today and spoke with the new owner, she was in love (wonder if she saw me take a pic before we spoke).

Hi all,
So, I posted a while ago that I was thinking of getting a mini, and that I wanted NF red. Originally, I was thinking black roof, chrome mirrors, tuscan beige leather, english oak, and chrome line and manual transmission.
I went to the dealer today, and things changed a bit. I ended up ordering a NF red with the leatherette, anthtracite headliner, and piano black, with chrome line interior and sun roof. (Oh, and switched to an automatic, since I live in trafficky DC). Do others have this combination? When I looked at the leather again the tuscan seemed too light and to have a greenish cast that I didn't like.
I have until tomorrow to make changes, as my MA is not going to submit the order until I call and give him the go ahead. Do people think this is a good combo? My MA was trying to push me into the racing green, and I must say it was a tempting choice....
