New here... been reading the posts and doing research for about a month or so. My 2009 Nightfire Red Clubman is due to be here within a week! Got both the Premium and the Sport package along with a few more extras here and there

Just ordered my vanity plates from DMV last week (it drives me crazy that there's an 8 - 12 week waiting period for that!). Plate is going to say "R3D DWRF" after my favorite Sci-Fi Comedy from the early 90's woohoo! (and it's strangely appropriate since I will in fact be driving around a small red vehicle.

Welcome the3rdgemini! You have made a wise decision going with NFR and we'll be here to help you get through the last week of waiting. This can be the longest week of your life. We've all been there. Photos are a must when your baby arrives of course!

The whole wait has been killing me. I ordered it January 3rd and have been pacing around since. Right now I'm in a silver 2002 Hyundai with about 130,000 miles on it. It's kind of like a ticking time bomb.

I think I've read every Clubman review that the internet has to offer. How many here are pro-Clubman or prefer the smaller MINI?

Welcome here gemini! I have a NFR database and will be adding your particulars as a member. Once you receive your MINI, post a pic and Carjoy will send you a "special" gift for our "special" vested members!

So...what I need from you: Car's name / state (or province) / Roof color / stripes? / transmission type / any other options such as seat colors, trim colors, etc.

This is the first entry in the database in months...and I'm excited! QUICK, BOIL SOME WATER...THIS BABY'S COMING!

Mine is an 07. There wasn't a Clubman offered when I ordered mine. I like the clubman except for one thing... I'd prefer the suicide door on the driver's side. Just my thought.

I feel your pain with the 2002 Hyundai. I had a 2003 MINI that I put on Cars.com to sell. I figured I had 8 weeks or so to sell it. If I didn't sell it I would just trade it in. Well I sold it in 12 hours. Had to rent a car for 8 weeks. AND my only option was a bright yellow PT Cruiser. It was a very painful wait....

Definitely will get the pictures in when I get my car! I called the dealership today, it looks like the ship my car was on has had a bit of a delay getting to the LA distribution center. Probably have to wait 10 more days :(

Car's Name: Red Dwarf (based off my favorite British Sci-Fi show)
Location: Oakland, California
Transmission: Automatic
Colors and options:
- Nightfire Red with black roof and black bonnet stripes
- Chrome line exterior
- Premium package
- Sport package
- 16" Bridge Spoke tires
- Roof Rails
- Black/grey leatherette seats (couldn't spend the extra $$ to upgrade to leaher)
- piano black interior surfaces
- and some other fun things here and there...

Woot! Welcome to the nut farm that is NFR!

We are a special breed. A breed that knows no peer (clueless we are). A person of uncanny tastes (never canned, always cooked). A truly creative person not afraid to be different (being clueless, we do not realize everyone is laughing at us). We are in a class unlike any other (nutjobs come close). We are NFR!

Say it with me! NFR!! WE R!

To answer another of your queries, gem...I'm not a fan of the clubbies. I prefer the MINIs...The next car I get will be a MINI S topless....maybe, dare I speak it...a Sidewalk???

Topless will be a good look for you in the dead of winter. I can see you with the ice chunks hanging off your hair as it blows in the wind...

I was checking out one of the threads on NAM about people having a lot of dislike for the Clubman (saw that in a lot of external reviews too).

I never really knew anything about MINIs until last June when I went on a date with this 6'6" guy that happened to drive a LB/wht MINI (which of course I thought was hilarious (mostly hilarious looking to see us get out of the MINI since he's 6'6" and I'm 6'0"... 6'3" in heels). Fast forward a couple of months, I was talking to my company's painter while on a project and told him that I was researching buying a new car and told him that I liked MINIs but it's just too small for me and my equipment I have to haul around for my martial arts class. And that's when he told me about MINI coming out with the Clubman. I test drove, I fell in love, and now I'm here.

When I saw them in person and opened up the doors and played around in it, I knew it was just right for me (and my martial arts equipment).

I guess I fall into the taboo category of people that said "I like the MINI but I want more room". Is that really blasphemy?

I don't curse the Clubbies...I just don't want to own one. I welcome all NFR's and appreciate their subtleties. I wish more Clubbies would come join the NFR Group...because I'm sure they are just as crazy!

Just don't come all at once; I don't want to spend all weekend entering data into the database!

6'3" (in heels)....martial arts....Skuzz...I think we're in deep trouble!

Hi there! I'll be getting a new '09 MC NFR/B within the next week. It's currently being unloaded in Georgia and waiting to go through the distribution center.

I'm coming from a '99 white Honda Accord that left me on the side of the Interstate in South Carolina on my way to a snowboarding trip. Not only did the alternator fail but the head gasket job I had done on it a few months back was done poorly and oil was leaking into my coolant. Not fun. I managed to sell it for $400 to Jerry's Used Cars in Yemassee, SC.

I haven't decided on a name for my Mini yet. It'll be equipped with the sports package, bonnet stripes, cloth interior, chrome line interior along with the brushed alloy, white turn signals, and the hi-fi stereo.

This being my first new car and a Mini, I can't tell you how many times I've checked the shipping web site.

Welcome aboard to the NFR Support Group, dapancho. Let us know when you name your MINI, but one more question for the database...what transmission did you order?

Also, once you post pics, Carjoy will send you a gift once you are a "vested" member.

Thanks for the welcome! I learned to drive on a manual and have driven manual all my life. My first Mini is of no exception.

I'll post pics as soon as I get her.

Hey welcome aboard the wild ride! Two new NFRs in such a short time. Is this the start of a trend?

Just to continue the trend...

I've had mine since last June - does it still count as new? It's new here on this forum, anyway.

I thought I said I didn't want to spend the whole weekend updating the database?

Welcome 33....I need a few particulars about your NFR status: state or province, car's name, year of model, any stripes (can't see the hood), transmission, any packages, and other options such as seat & interior colors, HiFi, etc etc....

CJ....I think we can send 33 the "vested" present!?

I think I can strike that off my life list....Only, I can't really remember what "triplets" meant on my life list...a list I created when I was 18!?
