Those walls are there to protect us. Uh,..at least that is whar they keep telling me on the television.

By the way, the weather appears to be letting up a bit. Maybe. So the trip to Austin looks good to go. WOOT!

At least that is what they are telling me on the television.

Ack...Cans are for VW's! HA.....Coop's only drink from bottles! And only 3 cases broken up? They must be Texas sized! hahaha

If you made your beer as strong as Canadian beer, you'd only need 3 cases!

We actually had some Molson...I thought of bubbles when we got it!

We've got an even bigger birthday party later in the summer, I'll have to test out the true capacity with the seats down then

Good luck Skuzz! Have a super trip!

The best canadian brews are probably our microbrews...but it's tough to keep them going in a smaller market with a lot of bigger names!

I am a huge fan and supporter of microbrews, major brands just go down easier at a party

I hope everyone is having a fun weekend of motoring! Gonna go give Mia a bath now...

We are back! Romi is not past her break-in miles and simply did great out on the road! The last leg of the 500+ mile trip[ yeilded over 42MPG while driving 70MPH!

Indicated speed appears on the high side. Our GPS consistently showed Romi to be about 3.5MPH slower than what she was showing on the speedometer. At 70MPH indicated, the GPS showed 66.5MPH. So, we used the GPS for our speedometer while on the freeway.

The cruise control worked perfectly. Even the undulations I had experienced before the trip are gone.

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day (for those who celerated it yesterday). We actually took care of that last week. Yes, the Wife unit and I are on our own clocks.

I saw my first NFR in the flesh this weekend at MINIs on Top in New Hampshire. My "old brown" was there, along with another velvet red, and one "new brown" NFR. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the brown cars all together because I had volunteered to play parking lot director during the event. :(

I've got 1,700 kms on Bubbles now, and I've noticed that the gas mileage is starting to creep up. (1,063 miles for you USers). I still haven't pushed it yet, as I'm waiting for the 2,000 km mark before I start. Then....the sport button gets hit to PERMANENT!

I still have to get my options put on, which is next week. And this weekend will be a fundraising cruise with about 300 cars at least....MINI club is forming a nest......All $ are going towards MS....It's Bubbles first car show!

So what do you think, snid....is VR and NFR very similar? I figure you would know best!

They are similar, but different.

Like I said, I didn't get a chance to put them next to each other and really compare them, unfortunately.

I've been seeing a lot of VR lately, and at a glance in low light they could be mistaken for one another. But that's about it. Waiting for the side by side myself too!

I'm still cheesed I didn't make it to MINIs on Top(Mt. Washington) The wifey correctly guessed this was going to be a crazy month. Next year!

I fear if NFR (or OB for that matter) goes the way of most Cooper-only colors, it will vanish as VR did one day as well. Better get 'em while they're hot!!!

I saw a GOLD MC in Brooklyn this weekend - maybe a 2002 or 2003. Not sure if it was a real MINI color or a custom paint job.

I've never seen a goldie in the flesh. Most pics I've seen were a pretty ugly, but I saw one from the recent Guinness longest-line that was very cool! Sorry, can't find it immediately now.

It was Solid Gold, I'll wager...a great MINI color!! It was controversial when it came out, but...as is common w/ MINIs...it looked stunning in real life. I see them now and again.....fantastic!!!

The Gold is pretty awesome..there were 2 at our MINI meet a few weeks ago. We also have a VR, a guy at work here owns it, and it looks much different side by side.

There's a light metallic blue color out there too.....and I think it looks amazing...but it's not out anymore! Heck...all colors are awesome....

Well, after a weekend at the waterslides, my backside is going from Chili Red to Nightfire Red.....in a week it should be Lightning Blue or British Racing Green...hahaha...now we have a mutually agreeable method of categorizing our bruises!
