I thought I wrote yesterday? I thought I did a lot of things yesterday...too hot...melting brain.

Scarlett's looking sharp! NFR is having quite the baby boom now!

Welcome ILV2MTR, Zorg, Codyh, and any other newbs I may have misssed, I haven't been on in a while. Good to see the legion is growing. I am quite sure I have the only NFR w/ one chrome fog ring though. They have offered to add the other at no cost, although I kind of like the uniqueness factor. If I add the other, I am debating whether to have the front chrome grill added as well. Decisions, decisions...in the mean time, keep on motoring!

I've been working on a collection of pictures of the whole group....I've got 8 different NFR MINI's with their owners & cars names....It looks funny to see them all together.....I haven't seen one car anywhere like mine, so it seems strange to put all our cars together...

Funny, Shaka, I was going to ask what you did with your one chrome ring!

Cool Dennis, looking forward to seeing the "group shots". The other nice thing about the chrome ring deal is that I am an hour and a half from my Dealer, and they have offered to drive up, pick up Luv-Shak, give me a loaner, and return it when it is finished. They will have to have the car for a couple of days, because it is actually a different bumper that accepts the ring, so there will be painting involved as well. That is the other reason I held off to date, I didn't want some stranger driving my MINI during the break-in period. Now that the break-in period is over, I have to decide what I want to do.

Very weird story shaka?! That was a nice offer from them. But how is one ring in there if they don't fit in your current bumper?!?

The bumper is actually 3 seperate pieces, right, middle, left. The right side has the kind that accepts the ring, the left doesn't. Very bizarre how everyone missed this from production through the dealer.

I'm still trying to find a good way of building a group picture, because I don't have any photoshop programs....maybe I'll build it on PowerPoint...ideas?

I can build it dennisd. I have all manner of programs for that stuff. If you give me a simple pencil sketch photo of the layout, I'll get 'er done.

Engine question: if I understand correctly, the engine in both the MC and the MCS is the new Peugeot/BMW motor. Am I correct? That's what it says on Wikipedia, but I always like to confirm.

Ya, coooorrect.

Here's a funny story. The cabrio is still the 1st gen model and engine. Last month they stopped production of the Prince 1st gen engines. I never really understood that, but I guess they have a stockpile.

Well, I know that old engine blocks used to be made and then left to "season" for a length of time...sometimes up to a few years...before they were put into a car. I wonder if these engines have to be left as well?

As for the poster design, I have pics of 8 cars so far (we can find them all on this thread) with their names....I'm wondering how we could put that together?

The very easiest answer is have Skuzz do it! But we should have him sign an affidavit swearing he won't obsessively spend too long on it!

The Tritec engine used a cast iron block. Cast iron blocks needed to season or age in order for the metal to become stable.

The new Prince engine is all aluminum, and while any metal being cast needs some season time, the lower melting temperature of the aluminum alloy used makes the eason time much shorter.

LINT BALL!! <PHWAPPP> GOT THAT *****!

If you show me all the pics ya want used dennis, I'll see what I can do. Bear in mind, the mill is due to arrive soon and I am going to drop everything to get it up and running as I have a ton of projects in front of for it.

Hey Skuzz, before that mill arrives, do you think you could create a new sig tag for me that has both my pic of Luv-Shak and the NFR owners badge? I guess something similar to yours but different(so it looks unique like my car). I have had every intention of doing this on my own, but it isn't happening. Thanks for your help!

Oh yea, got the engine names confused. But I've been known to mistake a coatrack for my wife (obscure cognitive science reference that isn't too funny even if you get it). But honestly, I think she'd take it as a compliment on her figure.

You have to wrap the SIGPIC tags around the URL.

Ok,..I know what the problem is. I forgot the sig pic has to be 500 pixels in width, or less.

I'll fix it at lunch time. I have to run home to get the file.
