ASK MINI (automated) told me yesterday she was in the body shop, still with completion on the 20th. I talked with ASK MINI's "Marty" the day before and he gave me a time breakdown of what happens at the end of production. It verifies with the information I've picked up here on the boards...
7-10 days to get on a ship
10 days to cross to Charleston
3-5 days at VDC
few days to truck to West Palm Beach
I'm lookin' at the week of April 15th, but of course hoping things go faster.

Thanks for the details. I'm now trying to figure out how the IRS tax filing deadline, April 17 this year if I understand correctly, can seem so near, and yet my MINI pickup-date, which by your figures, works out to about the same thing, can seem so far away!
In the paint shop today, with completion scheduled for Wednesday. Thank god I don't have to suffer through a boat ride across the Atlantic. I don't think I could stand it! :impatient
My Mini was completed two days ahead of schedule on 17th, made it to the port and got loaded on Figaro which is leaving today for California without stop on the east coast. The ship is scheduled to arrive in California on April 9th. According to the WW site there are about another 150 other Minis are going for this ride with mine. Is yours one of them?
Just talked to "Rebecca" at ASK MINI and mine made it to the port today! Now we start the ship tracking. Wooo EEEE! (Let me find my notes on THAT!)
Side note: Before finally deciding on the MINI I was seriously looking at the Scion tc 3.0 RS---a special edition with white pearl, spoiler, etc. As I left work today--there was one in the parking lot. I would not have had the distinctive, individual look I'm craving. It is a small town. I want a car that screams ME. Thank you, MINI!
I'm looking at the Charleston VDC, so I'm following Courage and Integrity. (I'd like to think I have both ). I've check Charleston expected ships for the next 30 days and neither one is listed. I'm just going to have to wait until the VIN posts at WW---and/or start looking at the other shipping lines.
I can tell you right now, with my luck, she will be ready to pick up at the dealer either 4/17 or 4/19--two days I absolutely cannot go and get her.
Congrats to you too then! Are you sure you're week 12 though? Sounds like week 11 that got finished this week.
Anyway...wanna race? My car only has to go from the U.K. to Germany (about an hour from the French border).
My MA told me it was going to be a week 12 build, but it actually started last week, week 11, got to the paint shop on Friday. They worked over the weekend to get all the options in and finally finished this Monday, week 12.
As far as the race, you're going to win hands down, even if you are a couple of days behind at the moment.
I just got an email from my MA, he told me that my MCS was going to start production this week. So as my calender tells me, I am in Week 12. YAY, I am expecting arrival at the end of May.
Anyone awaiting assignment on a ship have any info? I'm not getting anything from WW--yet. (Be sure to use the correct VIN--I had one number wrong on one of my many pieces of paper since my VIN changed right before production.)
Yes! Just got confirmation that I've been booked on the WW line's Otello, scheduled to depart Southampton 3/23 and arrive in NY on 4/1 (April Fool's Day!?--is that an omen?) after a stop in Halifax; sorry Charleston folks, hope you make the Courage, leaving one day later.
My car is now awaiting shippment. I've called my MA and she says they have no way of telling me anymore until the car hits the port in Charlotte. Where is Ask Mini (Automated)? I've looked in the Owner's Lounge and can't seem to find it.
In checking on my MINI's ride over, I see that the Otello has a capacity of 6,700 cars (or 3,000 cars + 400 buses) on 13 separate decks. It has a supercharged B&W main engine putting out 21,490 BHP at 105 RPM. Built in 2006 in Korea.
i just talked to ask mini and they said it arrived the departing port yesterday. but i can't find the vin on ww anyone know how to find out what ship it is on?
