R56 R56 Week 12 Production Group (March 19)

I have no clue if I am "Priority Status" or not. Dealer/MA has not been communicative at all. This is the last MINI we are purchasing from them unless things change radically. The first experience was wonderful, but this second time it has been like buying a Chevy/Ford/Dodge. Our Hyundai dealer was more attentive than this.
(Yeah, this is a rant.)

Union Pier, where our MINIs disembark in Charleston, is located on the COOPER River. How weird is that?

Deposit to Dealer in 4 weeks!
Hi everyone. I built my 07 MCS online and walked into my dealer on March 13 ready to go. I test drove the R56 to confirm what I have been hearing and put down a deposit ($500). My car arrived in NYC April 2 and at my dealer in Upstate New York yesterday, April 6. I pick it up Monday April 9. Less than one month from deposit to my dealer. Much quicker delivery than my first MINI, an 05 Cooper. My MA rocks. He tries to sell me nothing, NO pressure to do anything. They toss you the keys and say "come back in 15 or 20 minutes". They gave me a great price on my trade (the 05 Cooper) with no BS whatsoever. My new R56 is Astro black w/ matching roof, Chrome-line in and out. English oak w/ Piano black, Sport, Premium and Cold-weather package, Hi-Fi stereo, 17" Crown-spoke w/all-season run-flats. Rubber mats (No Charge) , Momo wood shift ****. I got a better financing rate from BMW in 2005 - 4.9%. This time, just shy of 8%. I did not shop around for a better rate. Not a big deal. My main concern is that my car will have the 'secret' compartment above the glove box. Happy motoring.

FRISIA was into Charleston yesterday morning at 6:35 and back out to sea at 12:05 this morning! It never showed on AISLive, since it is not a port they cover. The Charleston site was not updated most of yesterday, but this morning is shows under the "Ships in Port that past 10 days" list.
The COURAGE came in at 2:00 this morning and they began unloading at 7:00am. It is listed under "Ships currently in Port".

Owner's Lounge updated! Says at VDC with estimated delivery of 4/14--THAT'S SATURDAY! Time to call my MA. I had this warm moment when it hit me that I am actually going to get a car. This hasn't been a video game or some other virtual activity. In the end---there is actually a car--not just any car--a MINI! I'm looking forward to getting my life back.
How is everyone else doing?

Well, don't want to pour too much cold water on your parade, but my Owners' Lounge (still today) says the estimated delivery is 4/7. That's *last* Saturday. My MA says it could be sometime this week, but no better estimate yet. Hope your OL estimate turns out to be more accurate than mine!

I Hate the Wait!
The Owners Lounge finally says it is at the VDC, and has an estimate delivery of the 14th. But my flight to the dealer (Classic MINI in Cleveland) isn't till the 26th. My poor MINI will have to sit for an additional 12 days. At least I get to drive him/her the 4,000 miles home (Anchorage, AK) and he/she will be broken in by then.

After giving an estimated delivery date of 4/7/07 for the last week, the OL finally updated this morning to an estimated delivery of 4/14, and the automated ASK-MINI, instead of saying I was at the port awaiting a shipping vessel, updated to say I was in transit.
As it turns out, these were all good omens, because my MA just sent a note that the car came in this afternoon. After a few dealer installed accessories, it will probably be ready for pickup next Wednesday.
The wait is almost over!

Talked with MA and they expect her tomorrow in WPB--maybe same truck as yours Abacoa! We'll be picking her tomorrow afternoon--MAYBE? MA will call in the morning.
All the other "stuff" came into alignment nicely. Signed the loan papers today at the CU--5.75/60 months. Kid overnighted the tag we are transfering from Orlando two days ago and we got it today. (Yes, there is a story.) I have all my checklists from here at NAM, the camera, two STING CDs, and of all things, a tape measure to see how tall she is when we get her. I feel like I'm packed for a "birth".
