Where there is Supersprint, there will be Racing Dynamics! They make the RD exhausts... or at least they used to. I am thinking I might get a sports exhaust, not so much to get even more power, but to improve the already decent exhaust rumble, and maybe have shinier exhaust tips!

I like the look of the ALTA system. Nice and centered, tucked in, double walled tips. Supersprint is killer put the price usually sucks. Kinda like the tip on the Milltech piece too...

What's with the "1.6i" crap from Supersprint and Milltek? It sounds like a stupid made-up ricey name for the car. Or is BMW the culprit? Are they really caving to the "MINI is not masculine enough" crowd and tacking a cheesy 1.6i onto the car's name?

Are they small enough that the same guy who does the engineering also does marketing? If so, you would want his talents to be in engineering, not marketing.

If the full miltek means new cat, maybe. Cat back won't bother any manufacturer. Then the question becomes, what does the warranty really do for you beyond catastrophic failure? Some owners don't worry, most won't walk away from a warranty til it's over. Let's face it, if you have an engine failure and you've switched out your downpipe and cat, BMW is not going to be interested in fixing your motor even if there was no direct cause from your mods.

Please understand, my opinion is only mine, but I have spent 20+ yrs modding cars. Have heard enough diff responses from diff makers to not trust their interest in helping someone who has modded their car. Will I chip mine when someone cracks the CPU? Yep. Will I do a full exhaust system? Nah, too much work. You ever see where manufacturers put their downpipes? Generally a complete pita to change. Turbos like a free flowing exhaust, a lot. But the cat and dp are where the major restrictions are.

Others with better knowledge than I will chime in here, but there's one for you.

When we met with Mike Cooper ( JCW ) in England two weeks ago he showed us a completed R -56 system. It was very well done and should be shipping shortly . I did not get a price on the system but perhaps someone can ask a dealer if they have any info on it.

Are you referring to the JCW "Stage 1" kit?

Mike is awesome, really good guy. I met him a few years ago when BMW had not partnered with JCW yet. His kits are top quality and don't void the warrenty. But, they are expensive... here in the DC area, I may try to do some sort of group buy. We'll see.

I too like the looks of the Alta, we needa sound test & seat pant dyno run-off. New car coming in about 7 weeks +/- and I want to have all the parts ready before the first drive.
