As compared to the biting, ill thought out, provocative, and sometimes ludicrous comments that sometimes spew from your fingers?

As stated before, we're happy you love your R53. We love it too, but unless you have something constructive to say, please leave this part of the forums to those of us who do. You've used more than your allocation of negative flameworthy comments.

Yeah, I think we're using the word "issue" differently. It's not a big deal.

just because it is negative does not mean it isnt constructive. and flameworthy is based on the sensitivity of those doing the flaming. C4's comments can only be as offensive as you portray them to be, otherwise they are just comments. to be agreed or disagreed with. although i do enjoy the imagery that comments are spew from his fingers

If you want a R56 with factory burble...you have to move to the UK/Europe.

The Ämericanized"(Shudders) R56 has no burble and a cushier ride

Appreciate it. After I read what I had written, it looked like it could have come off as being snooty or nit-picky. While I do nit-pick about some things like the reflection quality of my paint, or how many jalepenos I mix with the chorizo and eggs, I do not have a snooty bone in my body.

Sometimes it is hard to us words to express myself. I am a very animated talker and depend on facial expressions and hand motions (not the punch in the mouth type of motions) to tell my tales.

And my Wife, bless her heart, tells me I am over-analytical. I have a tendency to say the same thing 14 different ways. Drives her bonkers. But then she has a couple of Vodka martinis and all is right with the world.

Uh, I think I wandered around a bit there.....

I know, I know, but I would rather pioneer the new frontier of MINI and hope that it somehow comes back than going with the R53. I like the new model and I like being at the forefront of something new. Its what i want so i can deal with the lack of burble and other IMO minor drawbacks in return for what i want.

It is software controlled, so the answer is yes. I think MINI should enable it on a per-customer-request-basis.

Remember that the key to unlock the performance potential of the R56 turbo engine resides in the ECU. Once tuners "crack the code"you'll see some very interesting things happening in this car.

But the days of cheap supercharger pulley upgrades and bolt-on JCW kit upgrades are quickly fading into the realm of nostalgia, I am afraid...

New is not always better

But I do understand your desire to experience the "latest and greatest".

Just ask Dean, the guy that was dead set on taking delivery of a new R56 next week, but after spending some quality time with a new left over '06 R53, he cancelled his R56 order and will be picking up his new R53 on Saturday

The burble, supercharged whine, more connected steering and "sport button"on by default are all part of the R53 experience right out of the box

Different strokes, different folks. I tried both and went with the 07 model. Older is not always better either. At 53, I can tell you,..it ain't as good as it was when I was 33.

I very much understand the R53's strong points, they are what pulled me towards MINI years ago. Now that I have a solid job and can afford my first new car. I love the Idea of speccing everything from the factory. So the R56 it is, and I know that I will love my R56 despite the first year quirks just as those eager MINI owners did way back in the early days of the R53. Theres lots in store for the R56, I cant wait to see what they are.

So what's the problem here? People aren't used to the sound of GDI engines?

C4 do you, or anyone, know how much as far as body pieces the clubman will share with the R56?

Interesting thread you revived on mini2 C4.. (coopers4us for the not in the know).

http://www.mini2.com/forum/general-d...ees-nam-2.html

It's lovely how you've taken to bashing us over there too.

here are a few of the interesting ones:

"If you are not a DiD, MFergurson, Motoringfile and Whiteroofradio fanboy, then you are not welcomed. "

"I just think the MINI2 crowd is generally both more mature and civilized. Discussions in NAM often end up in flame wars. Not my type of crowd. I guess bikers are more civilized than that."

"NAM is a very touchy feely kind of place. If you don't go along with the "crowd" you'll find yourself at odds. I do not drink that kind of Koolaid anymore. MINI2 is indeed a refreshing change from NAM."

"I also think that our British friends generally have a better attitude and demeanor. Man, I should have been born British."
nice way to slam on an entire forum.

There is a video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9MbO5d9ByU
They pan the camera over the idling engine for a few seconds. There is some techno beat music dubbed in, but you can hear the injectors tapping away.
Does it sound like that?

actually this thread was just another outlet for his r56 bashing so in that regard it's right on target. While it may have been a valid subject from anyone else, at this point he just wants to post anything negative he finds.

the thread this would have been most appropriate for got locked.
