I just talked to my MA. He said the computer has me at the VDC right now scheduled to be released to carrier on 4/12. However, he pointed out another car for his dealership ahead of mine was scheduled to be released to carrier 4/11 and was released today.
So, I guess in some cases they are coming through faster. He seemed optimistic it would be released tomorrow, arrive at the dealership over the weekend and be ready for pickup on Monday.
Wouldn't you know it, the Maersk Wind finally released a tracking signal today. While traveling through California to southern Oregon, on the way to Tacoma.
Sowellman - my MA told me (probably) last week of April as well. (I also ordered from Rasmussen and was on the same boat). I was really hoping for the weekend of the 21st. Still holding out hope....

Hopefully, they're being conservative. I imagine no one would be upset if a car comes in earlier than expected. They just get mad when they're late. Maybe we'll be there the same day to pick up our cars.
The OL now lists my car as being at the distribution center and lists April 15 as a delivery date. I'm curious to know how that compares to the rest of you whose cars also arrived on the Maersk Wind.
Just checked the OL which lists my Mini with an EDD of 4/13. I really hope that's accurate - I had hoped to take delivery of my Mini before next weekend.
I'm in the same boat Sowellman, same edd. Although when I call 866-ASK-MINI it says it's "en route". Wishful thinking on my part to think it means en route to Oregon??
Sowellman, "Ask Mini" says the same for my car. However, it's at the VDC in California. For the past twenty days I was getting the same info. Perhaps a software problem at MINI.
My MCS was on the Maersk Wind. It arrived at the dealership on saturday. The dealer says it will be ready for me to pick it up this evening or tomorrow. I'm in Sacramento, CA.
I just spoke to the dealer. Basil has been released to carrier and should be at the Mountain View dealer tomorrow. If it gets in before noon I can get the car tomorrow. If not, I'll be able to pick it up on Wednesday.
Ooh, Ooh, I was on the Maersk Wind as well. No word from the Dealer yet, but unless there's a problem with my car, looks like I may be driving it by the weekend.
AaronH, my MCS was on Maersk Wind. I ordered it from Mini Mountain View but no words from the dealer yet. Did you call him or did he call you?
I called them every time. They have always been very helpful, but I don't expect they'd call me on their own accord until it was ready to be delivered.
I'll be calling today between 2 and 3 to see if I'll be getting it today. (of course I have to be out of town tomorrow, so if it's not today I have to wait til Thursday. Le sigh)
I got my Mini last evening. Some interesting bits:
- The compartment above the glove box opens properly.
- The hood scoop is half open.
- The price of the multifunction steering wheel went down $200, so they knocked $200 off our originally agreed-to price.
Just talked to my MA. Yesterday, they said I was released to carrier and scheduled to be delivered today. Today, they said I was released to carrier today and scheduled to be delivered to the dealer on Thursday.
Grr...I'm like 5 hours from the VDC. Why does this take so long? I was unloaded a week ago today. They told me it normally takes 5 business days at the most. Now, it's starting to push it and it may not be ready until MONDAY.

The word was they had something like three ships dock in Port Hueneme in eight or nine days. Add to that the number of BMWs that would be included in those shipments and that would add up to at least a few thousand for them to process.
That doesn't seem like an unreasonable wait at all. I've had a deposit on file since October. Yes, I'm eager to get my car, too, but I can wait a few more days. At least you're being told it will be ready shortly. My MA told me to expect to be able to come up to Portland and pick it up betwen the 20th and the 25th. Makes your wait seem rather short, in comparison.

I get that. My annoyance is that they said it was released yesterday and would be delivered today. Now, they are saying it was released today and will be delivered Thursday. What are they going to tell me on Thursday?

I imagine that's why my MA has been pretty conservative with what he's been telling me. Started with end of the months, now is saying 20th through 25th. He probably figured no one would be upset if it arrived sooner than anticipated, but that just about anyone would be miffed if they had to wait past the date promised.
Hang in there. You'll be motoring in your new car before long. And before me.
