The WW site lists the Freedom as having already departed from NYC, a whole day early (yeah!)... So, maybe it will be one of the first (of the three+ scheduled) to get into Charleston this weekend, and therefore our MINIs will be the first throught the VDC...

I havent been able to find the Freedom since she pulled in yesterday on either AIS or sailwx -- i am thinking she may be spending a little more time near land than intended due to the awful weather we're having up here in Jersey.

I've been having trouble locating the ship, where was it off to from NYC and when's it supposed to get there?

 

Leaves NY today for Baltimore . and then will arrive 4/21 Charston SC.

 

I have an Oxygen Blue MINI on the way, although after driving a Chili Red S tonight, I am having second thoughts.....

My car is scheduled to come into the dealer today. So you should have gotten yours?

 

Had you all noticed that she'll be getting into Charleston a day earlier than she originally planned? When she left Southampton, the Freedom was scheduled to arrive in Charleston on the 22nd, now she's scheduled for the 21st. Both the WW and the Port of Charleston site have her scheduled to arrive that day.

I thought that might be the case since she got into NYC so early too, but this confirms it.

This site says she'll unload at the "Union Pier Terminal" berth 4, and that apparently she is 623 ft long (that's a big stork).

My MA contacted me to set up an appointment for taking possession of my new MINI, and the ship hasn't even made it all the way to Charleston yet. He's estimating about 3 days out from the ship arriving. Exciting. I guess that means the turn around time in Charleston is pretty quick and the delivery is even quicker. Way to go Charleston!


Too bad I am out of town (I'll be taking a professional exam on the other side of the country) the day he suggested for pick up, and I don't get back for 3 more days after that... But, something to look forward to on the return trip.

With the new MINI in addition to the (anticipated) "pass" on the exam, it should be a good weekend!

Freedom is out of Baltimore and on it's way to Charleston!!! Expected arrival is tomorrow.

 

I wonder why my MINI was off-loading in NY, if the Freedom also stopped in Baltimore. Not that I'm complaining. I pick up the car tomorrow.

 

Freedom probably not only carries Minis but other brands as well, so each VDC gets their brand.remember she starts off in Germany then Belgium then UK then NY then Baltimore then SC then The gulf Coast.

 

Perhaps including a certain Munich-based auto behemoth. FREEDOM started her journey where most Bimmers from Europe depart ... Bremerhaven.

Anyone have an idea on whether Freedom has made it on to Charleston??? I keep checking the WW site to see if it shows my MINI as "unloaded" but nothing yet.

 

Yeah I checked too. Mine still says due in SC on 4-21.

It looks like it's queued up for the "UP" (Union Pier). If you scroll down you'll see her! I've been looking for cams of the port but haven't found one.

 

At lest its here now. Wonder how long it will be in the DC before it hits the truck for Jax?
