To Funny gokartride...Yeah but for some reason right now I'm not OC...for the 1st time in a LONG Time!! I'm quite calm, I don't really have a Great Website to track Molly the TRIANON does not report to the Voluntary Tracking site, so all I have to go by is the VesselTracker. So long as I know she is on the water, enjoying the company of other MINIs, and basking in what I hope is better weather than what we are having I'm COOL!!

CALM is fading FAST!!! Molly is docking in NY today or tomorrow to let some of her Brothers and Sisters offload and then it is ANOTHER week to the Panama Canal and ANOTHER week to Port Hueneme!! At the rate things are going I'm sure to be BALD by then!!

i luv to watch the newbs squirm... i think it's the explosion of happiness at the end when they receive their mini-baby... the more they squirm ahead of time, the more excited they are on their special day... my Ge-MINI will be a year old next month... here I am 12673 miles happier than I was then... :-D

do you all use your production date, ship date, or receipt date as your MINI's birthday?

Yes, baldness is the "collateral damage" to ordering a Mini. Well, guess that's reason enough for not ordering a cabrio!

Congrats on making it across the high seas, and thanks for your encouragement in the "Independence" thread, RJ!

I'll bet my last $ you're going to watch the Webcams at the canal, right? Send us some pics to fulfill my vicarious interests. Meanwhile, I'll just order stuff for my baby. Makes me feel like I'm nesting ...

Mommashine...thanks, I think. I guess I'm getting nervous...did I order everything correctly. I got all I wanted that's for sure. I don't think there is anything else I wanted to spend extra $$ on. Nav maybe, but I didn't like how the in dash Nav looked. And the $750 for the other unit was again more than what I thought it should be. Molly will be a carpooling car for my Husband and me and he usually navigates us if we have to do any alternate routes via city streets. I'm the primary driver M-F.
Carolina I'm glad to tag along on your exursion across the big blue seas, you've been along for my ride, or what of it you could share. I'm going crazy NOT knowing her exact location. Hopefully your journey will be well documented by good ship communications.
So what's on the list? And what have you gotten so far??
I've gotten Molly the British Flag Antenna Ball from HappyBalls.com. My husband bought me a really neat wheeled cart for all of my detailing stuff. Today I was able to get a few things from that list. Need to call WeatherTech to find out if they indeed have mats that will fit Molly. The organizer for the lower compartment and glove box I'm still trying to convince my Husband we need. He's the clutter guru, I'm the neat freak!! I want to get a Boot Box, but the cost is a little more than I want to spend right now, she's not even home yet.
Ya know looking at the Independence II shcedule you could feasibly get your Baby before I get Molly or we could be getting them the same day. We'll have to wait and see.

RJ: if i worded it wrong i'm sorry... that's just the best thing i could come up with... squirm is all i did after i ordered mine... (i ordered mine a year ago 3-14 and i got it on 4-24) they told me initially i'd be waiting 2 months... so i was havin a fit! then as i tracked her across the pond and saw how fast she was arriving, it got worse... u'd think it be better but nah... much worse... i dreamt of minis, i saw mini's everywhere (some how no one had one in my area until i ordered mine, then they came out of the woodwork).. it was like party jitters... the closer my arrival date came the crazier i got... i STILL walk outside and let out a squeak when i see her... dirty or not... i get all giddy...

Trust me I wouldn't have thought that I'd be glued to my chair ALL Weekend LONG for a car (MINI, whatever) I can't even track her and here I sit reading all the Posts and searching the WW site for word of movement. Tomorrow is going to cramp my style for sure!! Hey...I feel sorry for those that have just ordered...do they know how bad this BUG is???

Ahhh, stuff for the MINI ... Let's see. So far:

stubby antenna from Craven Speed
microfiber towel sample kit from Detailers Paradise
windshield and sunroof shades from Stratmosphere.

Once I get her home, more on the list:
armrest console
seat covers (hawaiian print, maybe) once it gets really hot

Also thinking about (down the road):
adjustable shifter and shift well cover to replace the boot
new pedals
boot stripes (may get the dealer to do those before I pick her up)
Euro shelf, if I find one for the R56.

Also, looks like my ship is running behind schedule. I'm thinking I'll be close to the 8-week outside date when I get that much-anticipated call from my MA. I think you're right, RJ. Looks like we'll be getting our babies around the same time. And, yes, pictures are a must!

Any of you on the east coast thinking of going to the Dragon?

Some people like to get a car they think is unique....you know, one they won't see on the road all the time. I wonder if they're up for owning a car that they never see on the road....ever!!! Yup, OBs are that rare.....and we (let's face it) are special!!!

I'm on my second MINI and the second one I've ordered, so "the fever" is no stranger to me. All I'm sayin' is...that last week is pretty intense.

I've not modded any of my Coopers substantially, but my OB is getting a gift soon due to some funky (and typical) early model drama. My English Oak interior is missing an oak shift ****!!! Yes, it's true!!! However, since my SA is top notch, I have one on the way...in fact last Saturday we were at the dealer (but I swear I could stay away any time if I really wanted to ) he mentioned it had come in!!!!!!! So we'll see...this could be pretty exciting. I admit, part of me wouldn't mind waiting until the end of May...sort of a one year birthday present.....

Naw!!!!!!!

The only OB I've seen was at the dealer. Rare is just fine by me. Hope you enjoy your new shift ****. I bet the Oak interior looks good. What upholstery do you have?

careful yo... seat covers are a pain as the airbags pop out of the door side of ur seats... you have to get those stupid cushions and run the back strap up and behind your headrest...

also, the gas pedal is VERY thick and comes out of the floor... I had some tribulations trying to attach my vintage bare foot pedal... ended up having to make a velcro strap system to hold it on... Been on there now for about 9 months... no slips as of yet...

check out this thread... they have a link for a place with seat covers that work with the mini's side airbags... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=133458

Well I've had mine since Oct 07 and have put 23k so far with frequent interstate trips and have NEVER seen another OB!

Truthfully, I've seen two....and I almost had a coronary each time!!!! One commutes (somehow) to downtown Dallas, and one to UT Arlington. One of the MAs at my local dealership (Moritz) drove an OB/W for awhile but it got sold...and I've never seen an OB on the lot since.

It's funny, our little Saturday morning MINI/NAM Breakfast Club stops by the dealership pretty often just to gawk and customers (even escorted by their MAs) check out my OB/W all the time because they've never seen one either!!!!

I've never seen another OB either....except at the dealer. But never out in the wild.

I was out of forum commission for a few days so maybe I missed this in scanning what conversations have taken place but I'm curious....

What does everyone use for their Minis birthdays? I use delivery date. I kinda felt like the waiting for her to arrive was like a pregnancy (without the weird cravings) and the day I picked her up was the day she was "born." But, hey, I'm weird. What does everyone else think?

I'm using the day she came home as Blue Belle's birthday. That was the day she was delivered to me by my husband.

Thanks, mommashine! Yes, I'm looking only at those with airbag compatibility and custom-fit for the R56. Found out about that as I was looking, and talked a vendor on the phone. May not even do it. I'll wait and see how hot the leaterette gets here in the summer (I don't have a garage at home) ...

Also, yes, I'm still thinking about the pedals. I see some are "covers" and others replace the OEM pedals. The hang 10 one you have sounds really cool. Do you have a pic? Any pedal sets you recommend? I would like a set that includes the footrest ...

That's probably as good as any ... Right now I'm using production completion date, since it also falls on the first day of spring and my anniversary. I may end up keeping that date, because it will be easier for me to remember as I can't remember anything anymore ... EXCEPT, the url for NAM, Ship AIS, W&W line and MINI USA!

I use the delivery date, but only because that day....that moment...is what is permanently etched in my brain. Fond memories.

This is my MINIs birthday as it was the first time it was started at the end of the production line for diagnostic checks. The first time it breathed outside air as a complete car.

Oxbluecoop, that is cool. Can you tell me how you get that date to appear?

BTW, I see your bonnet stripes. Do you have boot stripes as well? I'm thinking of adding them, but don't know what to estimate for labor charges.

Push your odometer button about 20 sec until your VIN # comes up.Then just press until you get to your production date.To exit just keep it pressed until your odometer comes back up.

Yes I have a full set(bonnet/boot) of magnetic stripes that were custom made from Aesthetic Creations.
