paint repair for rock chip damage
I stopped visiting this site shortly after taking delivery of my car last summer. I've been accumulating some small dings/paint chips on the hood. As of last summer MINI didn't offer any of those little paint bottles in Oxygen Blue. What about now? If so, has anyone here actually used it to dab over the spots where rocks have chipped away the paint? I've never done that before and would like to know best method to make it blend in or if it's better to leave alone.

mommashine was looking for some, too...not sure if she located any. Then again, she might have bought out the entire national supply in her quest for further accessorization by painting all her household appliances in our favorite shade of blue.
I got a clear bra on my MINI and so have thus far avoided stone chips. Got a few pings in my windshield though.

Mine was around $400 but there is a range in prices...I suspect RJ's is top-on-the-line. I had mine installed almost a year ago and no one locally had the R56 Cooper template!!! I took what I could get (from a local shop that works w/ the dealership) and, fortunately, I've been very pleased with the results.

Missing In Action
Been a while since posting and took me almost a day to read all of the new (to me) stuff. Wanted to give great kudos to a SOCAL dealer that we took our MC to for some very minor warranty items - door handle not engaging & sun roof shade creeping. Brecht Mini in Escondido (near San Diego) did outstanding repairs - had to order a new door handle and got it overnighted so we had our car early the next morning. The service was outstanding from start to stop. We own a Lexus and the service from Mini was better by far than anything we have had from their competition, without near the attitude and condescending response when I told them I wasn't about to pay $1200 for 2 new front tires from Lexus when I could buy all 4 same brand tires from COSTCO for less than $800.
BTW, stopped by the sales area to see the new Clubman and asked about lack of O2B cars on the lot (they had tons of others in stock). Told they had only had a couple and sold almost immediately. After owning ours 10 months, we have still only seen one on the road and one at our dealer in Las Vegas.
Car still amazes us every time we see it and it is even more fun to drive after almost 10K miles. We will leave her in our desert home for 4 months during the summer (our garage is air conditioned so this baby won't suffer) and I got a lot of help on the NAM site in picking a battery charger to keep her juiced while away.

Thanks Gokartride. This will be mine and my partners commuter car primarily - although we are registering it in her name, she is kind enough to call it ours!
It's funny, I have loved all the tracking and excitement so far. I am saving and planning for a 911 with a January delivery... and I am way more excited about the MINI!

I have a perfect spot outside my house for the photo - below the Union Jack I fly
The only thing stopping the car being 100% perfect is the lack of the bottom chrome grill. We thought we had everything picked out perfectly, and didn't want the chrome pack because of the chrome mirror caps....but then we realised the lack of the lower grill - I'm blaming the brochure, I guess I didnt see the "optional equipment" small print!
So if anyone knows how I can obtain just the lower grill in chrome it would be much appreciated (I know a few of us have tried already to no avail)
