R56 Official Oxygen Blue Owners Club

I just thought I'd chime in and say
"Oxygen Blue is the COOLEST color ever and I have one!"
There are some sweet looking 02's in this thread and after a year of being all natural I'm ready to dress my baby up.
I've always thought a United Nations flag would look good on the roof but I don't know if it's available?

I was looking for the cheapest 02blue I could find so I went with the bare minimum.
The only options I got were ;
1) auto trans (hey this is San Francisco)
2) Fancy steering wheel (I use the cruise control but nothing else)
3) Black interior ceiling (What a rip-off)
I did get a good deal though so no real complaints.
My wife has the old original boxy Scion XB and when Toyota came out with the bigger more modern looking model she got a lot of offers for it. Toyota even called to see if she'd sell (she didn't).
Who knows, maybe our 02blues' will become collectors items

Welcome bobsax! It's great to have another O2B enthusiast in our midst! Hope your new MINI serves you well on all your Motoring miles. I stayed fairly basic myself and don't regret it. I did have to spruce up the interior color and style just a bit with the (now discontinued) Mellow Yellow colorline and the checkerboard dash, just to make it mine (and ted's).
Anyway, glad you're here! Keep us posted on your adventures.

Solar Red : 0 MINIs
Velvet Red : 0-1
Nightfire Red : 1-2
Interchange Yellow : 0-1
Silk Green : 1
Royal Grey : 1
So, OB was certainly significantly rarer than average, but not quite among the rarest at MOTD.

Yes, MotD was grand! Pity I didn't get to see you in person, Blainestang! I did see your MINI though. I saw three Oxy Blues while I was there - yours, mine and the other one you also have a photo of. :P
I did see two Nightfire Red MINIs. One Silk Green. No Solar Red... hmm...

RJ... Washington is pretty far from NC, I guess. Haha

Glad you all had a blast at MOTD AND that you represented Oxy Blue so valiantly! That really is amazing that there were so few of 'us' there, but it makes it that much more 'special'.
Blainstang, by the way, your step by step install instructions for the JCW grille were spot-on. Thanks so much for taking the time to post those!
amberback, glad you found your way over to this thread--congratulations on wringine one more Oxy Blue out of your dealer!

BTW, speaking of representing Oxy Blue (and "regular" Coopers), our Cooper really held its own on the Dragon and surrounding roads even with crappy runflats and 3 people in the car. Quite a few Cooper S's couldn't shake us, and several pulled off to let us pass. Only when we were out driving late Saturday afternoon with some of the guys who really knew how to drive and use their ~50% power advantage did we have to give a couple S's courtesy passes.
Here's a video we made of the late Saturday Dragon run with our new GoPro Hero HD Camera from Way Motor Sports. For the best quality (720p HD), open the actual Youtube page and change the resolution to 720p.
You're welcome. I'm glad you were able to use it and that it was helpful. Surprisingly, I just figured out that if you search "JCW Grill" on Google, there are 3 links that go to that How-To on the first page, and 3 pictures of it if you search images. So, I guess a lot of people are getting good use out of it

Blainstang, nice video--at least what I saw of it! The video kept pausing to buffer on my computer. One of these night when I do a little better planning, I'll let it play most of the way through then restart it and watch it uninterrupted. That 720p resolution is the cat's jammies. Nice job. The Dragon looks like a heap of fun!
