MFSW mixup... Not Again???

I logged into my Owner’s Lounge account yesterday and, when reviewing the options that I had spec’d, I noticed that there were TWO steering wheels on my ordered options list: the MFSW and the Sports Leather Steering Wheel were both shown. I ordered the MFSW as a stand-alone option and am aware that some of the early build R56’s were mistakenly shipped with the base steering wheels, so this was a cause for concern.

The list was correct in every other regard, so I decided to give 866-ASK-MINI a call and find out what’s going on. I waited for a live representative since the automated system was giving me the same info as the OL. The rep confirmed that, indeed, there were two steering wheels that were supposed to be installed in my car (maybe I ordered a driver’s ed vehicle by mistake). Not only that, but the MFSW showed up in their system as a no-cost option, with the Sports Leather being a $350 upgrade!!!

With some gentle persuasion, I convinced the rep that this made absolutely no sense, since both the dealer and MiniUSA directly contradict their data. Finally, she consented to “look into it some more and get back to me.” My car is slated to begin production on the week of 4/30 and I really hope that the whole MFSW fiasco does not repeat itself.

Has anyone else noticed this discrepancy in the OL? Anyone have any further insights? I have not spoken to my MA yet but plan on doing so today. Will keep you posted.

Dunt(tm) worry. That is how they have to order it to be sure you get the MSFW. It is a goofy bug in the order system. My dealer explained it to me as they had run into the order problems before with the MSFW option.

Mine showed up like that also, but without a price because it came with the premium pkg. I also thought that it was going to show up with 2 steering wheels, even though my MA assured me that this wasn't the case. I think that it shows up that way because you can get the MFSW in either leather or wood, so it says that it's MFSW and it also shows that it's leather. In fact when that problem first occurred, the orders were only showing one steering wheel, like 255 sports leather steering wheel, but as long as it also said 249 Multi-function steering wheel, you were good to go. Hope this is what's going on with yours.

Thanks for the info, guys! Spoke to my MA today and he confirmed everything you said. I guess it's time to find something else to worry about...
