The longest week yet to come...

Is that 5 days from the ship arrival date or 5 from the processing date? 2 days for VDC processing seems reasonable, 3 days for transport to AZ seems reasonable. 5 days for transport to AZ seems a tad lengthy.

Mine's only got to get down to Escondido, easily a one day truck ride. AZ might be two trucker shifts? I suspect you or I could get to Phoenix from Port Hueneme in an 8 hour work shift.

I was thinking the same. I'm in the TO area and might drop in on Tuesday for some pics. I'll try not to jump the fences with excitement.

Yeah, you don't want to get arrested before you get your car.

But when on Tuesday?

But when will our ship arrive? WW says it comes in 5/15, departs 5/16 - kinda implies a late day arrival. But, what time do they use on the website: local or GMT? A departure at 0100 GMT on 5/16 would be 6pm on 5/15 local.

I'd guess the website is based on GMT, but who knows?

Real soon now, my car will be passing me by...

The irony is that we have to go to a wedding in Santa Barbara (live in LA) and may pass our car on the way up if it gets stuck in port. I tried to convince the rep to hook us up with a pickup, but the dealer needs to inspect it...

Ship has left port. Now the painful wait begins. My MA is saying about 5-10 days is normal from now. I'm in SoCal.

I got a Lightning Blue on the way too. I originally was gonna go Laser Blue because it was the new colour, but changed my mind and went with the classic look I always had in my mind.

07 MCS Auto, LiB/W, bonnet stripes, no packages, DSC, Pacific Blue color line, MFSW, cloth seats. Stuck with the stock 16" S-Winders, in case I go aftermarket. But they look pretty sweet as is. Dealer quoted me $566 + change for the iPod accessory. Another thread mentioned a problem with the iPod software. Hopefully that's solved. My MA at East Bay MINI in Pleasanton, CA told me that their techs haven't had any problems with the iPod install, so hope all goes well and be motoring in a week.

It appears the cars are processed as a batch as far as WW is concerned. Probably all 159 in the booking number show the same discharge time.

Now I just need to hear from my MA - any MA... I called this afternoon to discover she is "no longer with the company" (Carlene at Brecht, she was helpful and friendly) and was directed to the sales mgr where I left a messgae. No wonder I hadn't been getting any updates lately like some of you.

This evening, I tried to reach ANY warm body in Sales to have them check on my car and not a one can be reached by phone. Left another message with the sales mgr and with the front desk. The sales mgr hasn't returned my calls as of their 9pm closing time. Grrrr.....

You'd think they'd reassign Carlene's customers and have the new MA give a call.

Got my call back, and a new MA...

Their paperwork shows delivery to them by 5/23, could be earlier, but that's what they know, and they'll need a day to prep. Hoping for earlier!

They said MINI is trying real hard to push cars out the door in May to book sales for a big year over year gain, so the VDC ought to be cranking em' out.

Mine's early!!! i just got a call from my MA at lunch time today. It's there and ready to pick up. I'm about to leave in a few minutes. Sweet! I was not expecting a call until at least a week after it reached Port Hueneme. This is great!!! It must have been first off the boat or something.

Nope, last word was car would be here probably by Wednesday, the 23rd. Then a couple of days for dealer installed options. So maybe by next Friday or Saturday.

To make things worse, my checkered mirror caps, door handles and floor mats came in yesterday. I need a car to put them on.

Grab a mirror cap in each hand, hang the handles from your pockets, strap the mats to your feet and run around the neighborhood going vrooom, vroom....

Not yet, just biding my time....the anxiety has been getting to me. Going through my current car and cleaning it up a bit for the trade in. Sorta sad in some ways, been on quite a few road trips. *sigh* Yeah this bitter sweet feeling won't last long once I'm behind the wheel of my MCS :-D

I'm in Milpitas, just north of San Jose. Dealer is East Bay MINI in Pleasanton. My MA is Jesse Antonio. Good guy. No freebies, but oh well. They got the car this morning and I got the car tonight. 2 problems. Passenger side handle won't open from outside, have to open from inside. MA says it's some rod link broke. Should not have passed at QC at the VDC, but it got through somehow. Will fix it next week. 2nd... the tow hooks.. they forgot to replace the covers and misplaced them. Have to order some. Small inconviences, otherwise, i love the car. It had 7 miles on it when I drove it. I put about 70 more driving around, not much, just a little getting to know you period, trying to find the right driving position. I love it so far! I'll need to drop it off for a day next week to get the door issue fixed, but they'll give me a loaner. I'm looking forward to just going anywhere this weekend.

A fine lookin' machine, but I'm biased! Enjoy your new toy.

LiB seems to be popular among us Turandoters: myself, enemini, s325mini. eightysixdown's is BRG, while chubbycheckers' is CR. All striped!

cnolan, what's the specs on your wife's new ride?

It is a nice looking car. Even though I'm partial to CR, I like all MINIs. I'm a little jealous of you guys in California.

I had to paint my Blue MINI R/C car Chili Red w/checkers just to keep my mind off of my real car.

Hope you guys have fun this weekend!
