Great choice, Lynn. Glad to see you finally got it. I would've gone LB but didn't want to be confused with a Colts fan.

Update on the blank button above the rocker switches. The button was originally for windshield heating. It is not used on US spec cars, as the heat/ac system accomplishes the same thing. Just to keep things even, they still put the button there. I think I am going to do a graphic depicting an ejector seat and put that on it.

Congrats! Looks nice. That NAV display is pretty wild. I like the seats too.

Thanks all. I love the seats. I was initially torn between the cloth/leather and full leather. The second day I had the car, it was 85 degrees outside and probably 110 in it. I knew I made the right choice. I was also concerned that the colors wouldn't look quite right, since the blue of the body and the blue of the interior are somewhat different. But I think it looks great in person.

Here is how things have progressed in Fizziland. The day I picked up my car, the pollen came. Within hours in my driveway, the car was covered in a patina of yellow. It actually looked kind of cool. The next day, more of the same. Monday, I decided to drive to work. Took me 1.5 hours (vs. 1 on the Metro) and cost me $15 to park (vs. 0 on the Metro as my employer pays for that). I thought the pollen would blow off. Nope. Last night it rained. I thought, at least it would wash the pollen off. It didn't rain enough. Only enough to make big, ugly pollen circles on the car. I decided to go back to taking the Metro. I parked in the Metro lot. I decided to park in a normal spot between 2 cars already there. I considered parking in a lonely spot, but I have seen a lot of high school age kids cross the lot and figured I was better off hidden in the crowd than calling attention to the car. I remember some *** from my youth who would intentionally kick or ding cars that were parked by themselves. That has always stuck with me. Well, 2 days in the lot with no problems. I do try to park next to other new cars though.

Just wanted to give an update on some common issues, after a week of ownership:

1. The car may not "burble" but it does have a cool, unique sound
2. No sunroof noise
3. The car definitely moves, even with the Sport button off
4. The ride is firm and "go-cart" though not as hard as the R53's
5. The run flats ride nicer than I thought and much better than on my R53
6. The headlights come on when it is too light. But, since they are no longer user adjustable, better than if it was too dark.
7. The hidden compartment does not rattle.
8. I've noticed 3 other MINIs on the road. Got a wave from one, a nod from another and no acknowledgement from a 3rd.
9. The headlights do not stay on when the engine is off (even when in the "on" position). I found this out when my wife turned "off" the lights not realizing they were in the auto position.
10. Now that I am used to the electronic turn signal stalk, I like it, although the first day or two people behind me proabaly thought I was very indecisive.

I have an issue/question with the navigation map. When I start the car and do not have navigation on, the screen defaults to the "perspective" map across the whole screen, which is what I programmed and want. However, if I had navigation active, once it reached its destination, or I have cancelled the route, instead of reverting back to the full screen map, the part of the map to the right, which used to show turns, now shows altitude, longitude and latitude. I am not flying a plane or driving a boat. I want the full map, dammit. (How) can I get it to revert to the full screen map without going back to the home "page" and re-entering it? Thanks!
